Luckily, with the way online poker has flourished during the last decade, you donāt really have to. There are numerous online series offering great value for relatively small buy in, without requiring more than couple of hours a day to play in them. And with countless satellites running before and during these series, anyone who really sets it as their goal to play in some events can do it for an even smaller amount.
PokerStars is well known as the number one online room for tournament players. The number of their customers enables them to organize big tournaments with some really sweet prize pools, and they also offer a few big tournament series during the year, often referred to as āCOOPS.
WCOOP stands for World Championship of Online Poker. With buyins ranging from $100 for some events all the way to $10,000 for the high-roller events, with all tournaments having good guarantees (which are usually surpassed), this series offers more than 60 events to chose from.
SCOOP designates Spring Championship of Online Poker and is even more player-friendly. With more than forty events and three different tiers for every bankroll, Spring Championship features tournaments with buyins as low as $11 in the Low tier and as high as $10,000 in the High tier.
Finally, there is TCOOP, or Turbo Championship of Online Poker. With most buyins from $27 to $215, and only the Main Event somewhat higher, this Series also offers something for every pocket, but is mostly aimed at those who prefer fast tournament structures.
Full Tilt Poker also has its online series, named FTOPS (Full Tilt Online Poker Series), together with its counterpart miniFTOPS for those with shallower pockets. Most of FTOPS buyins are in the $50 - $215 region, and although this Series was much bigger in the past, during the glorious days of Full Tilt, it still has something to offer to tournament grinders.
Ipoker network has its own series as well, known as IPOPS. Although it is not as big as the other two, there is certainly a lot of value and fun to be found at the tables. There are usually up to ten events across the series, and there are also two different tiers, Low and High. While the events in the Low tier only go as high as ā¬75, the High tier features the events with buyins up to ā¬250, with about ā¬1 million in guaranteed prizes spread across the series.
If online tournaments are your cup of tea, these series are certainly worth checking out. With a lot of money up for grabs and different types of games offered, there is something for everyoneās taste, and it is all just couple mouse clicks away.
