With a nod toward recreational players, Party Poker has created a new Monster Series that will feature 123 events and $2.7 million in guaranteed prize money, and the highest buy-in will be only $33.

This will be Party Poker's second edition of the Monster Series and will run from April 29 through May 6. That's eight days of exciting poker action, with each day consisting of a distinct theme that will include regular, fast and turbo events.

In addition to themed days, the revamped structure of the Monster Series will feature each event as having low, mid and high entry fees. In other words, 41 events times three with different buy-ins of each for 123 tournaments all together, and the lowest buy-ins are just 44 cents ($0.44)

“When we first launched the Monster Series, it was in direct response to player feedback," said Party Poker Managing Director Tom Waters. "Players told us they were keen to compete in a series of tournaments that offered a range of low to mid-stakes buy-in levels."

Players also told Party Poker reps that they prefer 6-max and 8-max formats that include Progressive Knockout tournaments. Party Poker certainly delivered, as is evidenced by the formats on the themed days as detailed below:

Sunday, April 29
NLH 8-Max
Monday, April 30
6-Max PKO
Tuesday, May 1
NLH 8-Max
Wednesday, May 2
NLH 6-Max
Thursday, May 3
NLH 8-Max
Friday, May 4
PKO 8-Max
Saturday, May 5
NLH 6-Max
Sunday, May 6
NLH 8-Max

Also of note is that a flagship tournament will be featured each day at the three different stake levels. The key tournaments will begin at 18:00 BST/ 19:00 CET and offer guaranteed prizepools of $130,000 combined:

$100K Gtd
$33 buy-in
$25K Gtd
$7.50 buy-in
$5K Gtd
$1.50 buy-in

The wrap-around Sundays of the eight-day festival will be highlighted by huge guaranteed tournaments such as the $200,000 GTD on April 29 and the $300,000 GTD Monster #38-High Championship Event on May 6. Both of those tournaments are only $33 to enter.

Something new for the ladies is on tap in the Monster Series as well. Three special Ladies Events on the final Sunday of the festival are scheduled, a likely fun time for the fairer sex whether they buy-in for $1.50, $7.50, or $33.

"It’s extra exciting that this new Monster Series features Ladies Events," stated Party Poker ambassador Natalia Breviglieri. "These tournaments are a chance of women to compete against each other directly and I know there will be a great atmosphere.”
