partypoker Sign Lui Martins for Twitch Team Online

Lui Martins has signed a deal to join the fast-growing partypoker Twitch Team Online. The Brazilian tournament grinder joins a list of high-profile streamers, such as Jaime Staples,  as he takes the next step in his playing career.

“When Jaime invited me to join Team Online, I remember thinking it was the best that could have happened to me! I admired his hard work and the team's effort to grow partypoker!”

Just like his fellow partypoker ambassador Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospelier, Martins comes from a video gaming background. In fact, his streaming career began with the showcasing of his exploits in classic games such as World of Warcraft and Quake.

This experience, coupled with poker home games, led him to attempt a change in career.

Although predominantly an online tournament player, Martins has also touched a little success in the live arena too. Back in 2016 he picked up fourth place in a WSOP Circuit event for almost $80,000.

Breaking New Ground

Martins’ first mission as a partypoker Team Online member is to bring high quality streaming content to new and old poker audiences alike. His Brazilian nationality is also an important factor to reinforce the partypoker brand in Latin America.

With currently less than 4,000 followers on the Twitch platform, Martins has a lot of work to do to emulate guys like Jaime Staples, who has around 127,000. 

Like most fresh beginnings though, we can expect Martins to be hyper-motivated to make this career changing deal work best for him.

He said:

“I've been following the streaming community since Justin.TV and now is the perfect time for me to have my own channel. It also fits perfectly with my current plans of staying close to my wife and son - recently one year and a half, the cutest ever! Grinding MTTs online and streaming is a perfect mix of work and family time, since I'm always near everything that I love!”
