Yesterday marked the start of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2015, the tournament that is now 11 years and one day old. The event scheduled to get things off the ground was the $100k Super High Roller and if it can be used as any indicator, this year’s PCA is set to break some records.

The $100k buy event gathered 48 unique entries and 12 reentries, already bettering last year’s field of 59. Registration will remain open until the start of play today, so we are likely to see at least a couple more reentries.

The man leading the pack after yesterday’s play is Sam Greenwood, who sits on a stack of nearly 1.1 million. Chasing him are last year’s PCA Main Event runner-up Mike ‘Timex’ McDonald with 749,000, and Andrew Robl, who bagged 734,000. Other big names that made it through the day include Vladimir Troyanovskiy (637,000), Sorel Mizzi (577,500), Justin Bonomo (511,000), Daniel Negreanu (303,000), and many others. This SHR is made up mostly of well-known players.

Some businessmen also made it through the day, including Bill Perkins (although it took him three bullets to get there) and Paul Newey. Dan Shak was eliminated, but he might decide to come back and fire another bullet before play begins today.

More action starts today

The Caribbean adventure is slowly picking up speed as more events will be kicking off today. Those worth a special mention include the first ever LAPT Bahamas Main Event and the first Double Bubble side event. It will be interesting to see what kind of a response the latter tournament gets from the players.

The action in the Super High Roller will also continue today and play will most likely reach the final table, as there are currently 39 players still standing and we don’t expect to see more than a few reentries or fresh registrants considering the $100k price tag, but one can never be certain.

PokerTube crew landing

Our crew will be arriving in the Caribbean today to bring you some exciting interviews and on-site action. In the Bahamas, there is so much more to do than just poker, and we will endeavor to bring you a well-rounded experience for maximum enjoyment.

Our magic trio, Laura, Rikard and Richard, will be all over the place, chasing everything and anything worth catching, so make sure to regularly refresh PokerTube pages for the latest news from this beautiful Caribbean resort.

Oh, and feel free to be a little jealous of them, as they run in the sun and swim with the dolphins, while we are shoveling snow from in front of our homes. A good place to be in January guys, well played!
