Phil Hellmuth is noted for his extravagant entrances, but the self-styled Poker Brat topped all his previous efforts with a Samba-dance special as he turned up for partypoker’s LIVE South America series in Rio de Janeiro!

Las Vegas may have witnessed big Phil appear as Thor, Caesar, in full MMA gear and even as a NASCAR driver for his WSOP arrivals, but his Rio samba extraordinaire was a step up for the 15-time gold bracelet winner as he set foot on South American soil for his debut poker appearance in Brazil.

Hellmuth is in town for the $5million Guaranteed Main Event and he enlisted the help of the Beija-Flor Samba School to ensure all eyes were on the main star of the partypoker LIVE South America’s flagship event.

It wasn’t just exotic dance that filled Phil’s first day at the Copacabana Palace Hotel Casino, there was song – well, freestyle rap at least – as his table got into the carnival mood…

The 5-day Main Event is a $10k buy-in affair, and although Hellmuth survived his day one starting flight, the day’s Samba antics meant he needed a little help to get some much-needed sleep…

With the partypoker LIVE South America schedule also boasting a $25,000 buy-in Super High Roller, a $1M GTD High Roller and a $1M GTD Open, there’s a very good chance that we won’t have seen the last of Hellmuth in Rio – and he’ll be sure to make a song and dance about whatever he gets up to!
