Poker Players and ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
9 years ago22 Aug
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge started as an attempt to raise awareness about Amyotrophic lateral scleriosis (ALS) or Lou Gherig's disease in United States. The concept was not entirely new but the popularity the challenge gained on social media was unprecedented.
It is no wonder that numerous poker players took part in the challenge. First of all, it is right down their alley – many of them do things like this for fun and laughs. Second, it is for a good cause after all. And so it started.
Some of those who have completed the challenge so far include Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari, Jonathan Duhamel, Dan Bilzerian, Jorryt van Hof and others have been issued the challenge. Below are some of the videos showing these short but epic moments and we are sure there are more coming. These videos are already on Pokertube site, but here we decided to gather them all in one place for your viewing pleasure.
Phil Hellmuth – calling out Negreanu, Esfandiari and Ty Stewart
Antonio Esfandiari – doing it like a champ
Dan Bilzerian – as always doing it his way
Although some criticize the Ice Bucket Challenge as being too much about fun of it all and too little about the actual cause, it is still bringing some attention to the issue that’s been marginalized for quite some time, so either way it can only help. And there is no doubt in my mind that these guys also gave nice donations to help the cause as well.
