Poker Tube Weekly: Play Station Race Is On for August

Weeks sure do seem shorter these days. But with the amount of promotions PokerTube has in store for this summer, it can only be a good thing, as it means the money will find its way to your pockets faster. Some of our users who had good last week are well aware of this.

First PlayStation 4 and iPad Mini may have found their new owners, but that’s all in the past now, as the August race is heating up as well, with two tournaments done already. Yours truly has been playing in quite a few of these but without any significant results, and last night was no different, as I was sent packing with some 20 people left or thereabouts.

Few other Pokertubers had much better luck, however, and I must say I am really happy for them and I do not feel at all left out because I haven’t been able to final table one of these yet. Not one little bit.

Player eirwess was in special favor of poker gods last night, as he was able to come out victorious from the field of 41 players and claimed his deserved bounty of €138. Once again, these are the tournaments with only €3 buyin, so you do the math. On top of the money, ‘eirwess’ also claims very valuable points that now put him in the second position on the monthly leaderboard, a place that guarantees an iPad Mini. But there are two tournaments to go still.

HiperSuper62, who has been running pretty good in these tourneys, finished runner up and picked up another €82, while LuckyTube claimed €56 for his third place finish. Minor15, last week’s winner, finished in fifth spot and earned €30, but more importantly claimed enough points to stay in the lead – a place that for now guarantees him a PlayStation 4. After two tournaments in August, this is how the upper half of the leaderboard looks like

Ladbrokes Super League

Super League on Ladbrokes is reaching the halfway point. Last Tuesday, fourth tournament of the league took place, while the fifth one is scheduled to go down tonight. Although PokerTube’s own Rory started off very strong, he seems to have lost some momentum and other users are slowly creeping up on him. That said, he is still holding the first place.

Event on August 5th once again had under 30 players and this time it was william991 who turned his €2 investment into €82. CrazY9LP lost the heads-up battle, but still took home €55.50, while third place herrryt claimed €33.30.

With the most recent development things have become quite tight at the top. Although Rory is still leading, CrazY9LP came within an arm’s length, with only two points between these two. Both luckpuck and herrryt share the third place and they are only four points behind Rory.

There are €600 to be shared between the top three spots when it is all said and done, so these players certainly have something to fight for. If Rory doesn’t make an effort, we could easily see his place occupied by someone else, especially these most serious contenders. But even those who seem well behind could catch up easily, as win in the tournament is worth 15 points. Here’s the look at the leaderboard
