Pokertube Weekly: Another Week of Exciting Poker Action
11 years ago

22 Jul
Things are really warming up in Pokertube tournaments. They are fun and exciting, banter is simply great and, perhaps the most importantly, there is a ton of free money floating around, just waiting to be claimed. Let’s give a shout to those who did exactly that last week!
Hunt Season is Now on Pause
Dabeear bounty tournaments on Buzz poker certainly created a lot of buzz. Past week saw last two scheduled events take place and the hunt season is now officially closed, although we would not be surprised to see it open once again real soon.
The July 15th tournament was actually recorded and commentated on by the man himself – Dabeear was back in the commentator booth and that was a guarantee for some good laughs along the way. And once again, for the third time, Bear did not last very long, as he ran his Ace-Queen into roory17’s set of Tens on the Queen high board. So roory17 claimed Dabeear’s chips and the sweet €30 bounty. Still, finishing 8/10 is a good effort.
As for the winner, it was obie1 who defeated UlDuffer in the heads up battle, taking home €25 and €30 tournament token. UlDuffer got €15 for his second place finish, while roory17 claimed 3rd place and added another €10 to his Bear bounty.
If you want to see how it all went down, watch the full tournament recording, courtesy of Dabeear.
The last event was scheduled for June 17th and finally, Dabeear made it to heads up! It was his time to shine, to prove to the world what he was made of. Unfortunately, he was up against obie1, who’s been running pretty well in these. After a long heads up battle, obie1 got the last of Bear’s chips busting him in second place, while claiming €30 for the victory + €30 for the bounty and €30 Sunday tournament token. A sweet deal indeed and good game Dabeear – you’ll get them next time!
The epic battle, as well as the rest of the tournament, are up and ready for watching!
Ladbrokes Super League
The first event of Pokertube and Ladbrokes Super League took place on Tuesday, June 15th and the race for the top three places is on. The player standing on top of the leaderboard after eight weeks will take home additional €300, there is €200 reserved for the second place and third place will earn extra €100.
There was some real nice value to be had on Tuesday night, as 24 players took place in the tournament, putting up €2 each, and the winner got to walk away with €79.20 – that’s right, almost the twice the prize pool. As far as the tournaments go, you will hardly find any better value than these, even if you don’t consider all the extra prizes from the leaderboard.
The man who seized the day was PacManOdessa and he pocketed that €79 and change as well as 15 league points to get off to a good start. He defeated vbnerfQA in the heads up, but the runner up finish was still good for €53.50 and 13 league points. The man whose voice you learned to recognize in the live streams, our own RoryPokerTewb, added to his hourly wages by coming in third place, earning just shy of €30 and 11 leaderboard points.
Full recording of the tournament is available in Pokertube videos section, and you’ll also get to see Rory crushing some super micro stakes while waiting for the tournament to start. (Man just has plenty of free time on his hands, which is good for the rail birds)
Leaderboard standings after one tournament:
1. PacManOdessa (15)
2. vbenrfQA (13)
3 .RoryPokerTewb (11)
4. ItsMeAgain38 (9)
5. FCVDinho (7)
6. RRPTube (5)
7. 23poker (3)
8. GoldF13 (1)
Conclusion
We had the second tournament of the William Hill monthly series take place last night, but results are not up just yet, so that will be covered in the next week’s preview, as we are getting very close to awarding the first Play Station 4 and iPad mini.
Second Ladbrokes event is scheduled for tonight at 20:00 GMT, so there is still plenty of time to deposit a few bucks and get in the mix. You will be getting your hands on some great added value, so no reason to wait. If you don’t have a Ladbrokes account yet, go and get one right now!
