PokerTube Weekly: We Are Taking You to the Caribbean’s!

When it comes to promotions, PokerTube has always been simply the nuts! Every week I try my best to explain to people why they should be playing in these tournaments and I am seriously contemplating writing a serious article about why it is hugely +EV (just in case some have missed it). But, this latest promotion is really like nothing before!

PokerTube and Betfair Taking You to Punta Cana

Our latest promotion doesn't kick in until October 1st, but it is so great that I felt it deserves to be the one to take the top spot! This promotion is open to all old PokerTube accounts on Betfair poker as well as new registration through PokerTube link. And what an offer it is!

Across eight tournaments that will be played from October 1st-15th, with measly buy in of €1, Betfair will award €100 satellite tickets to the Punta Cana Super Satellite to three top finishers in every single one of these tournaments. So that’s 24 (twenty-four) €100 tickets with great potential to earn you an all expenses paid trip to the Caribbean with great potential to win big in the €500K guaranteed Main Event. I really don’t think this needs any more ‘selling’. Considering that both PokerTube tournaments and satellites will have super small fields, especially for the first couple of them, you will be doing yourself a favor by getting in on the action early. I basically don’t even like writing this, as I will most likely try to qualify as well and don’t won’t too many people in these, but I kind of have too… So there you have it, I really don’t feel like trying any harder – if you don’t think investing maximum of €8 in a very, very realistic chance to spend few days in the Caribbean’s and play for bunch of money… I mean, as far as the promotions go – this is it, the nuts! I almost didn’t believe it myself when I got the mail from the marketing. Sick!

PlayStation Hunt Continues on Williy Hill

Maybe it’s not Caribbean’s, but PlayStation 4 is most certainly a very hand home appliance. I’ve already explained all of its functions last week, so won’t be doing that again, but once again, these tournaments cost only €3 to enter and have €250 added to the prize pool + after every four tournaments, top two players receive Play Station 4 and iPad Mini! Top eight under them also receive €25 tournament tokens.

Fields in these tournaments usually don’t exceed fifty players and top prize is in the €150 region. So let me do some real quick math here. You win once, you are freeroling next 50 tournaments. Four weeks in a month, 12 months, yeah – you are set for a year. And how hard can it be to win 50 (or less) people tournament?

And this is not even taking into consideration leaderboard prizes. I mean, now there are PlayStations and iPads, before that there were Samsung Galaxies (won one of those some months back /brag) – and there is always something. The ‘something’ is usually something with very nice price-tag and I am still puzzled how these tournaments keep staying under the radar. Not complaining, I’ve started making some money from these when I was still learning how to play, but why people fail to recognize supreme value is beyond me.

The situation at the top is really tight right now and the last tournament of September will be a really decisive one. Two guys at the top have the same amount of points (22) and third one is just one point behind. Other few top spots could also surge to top with a win, and we could also potentially have a tie, which will then be resolved… somehow. Yeah, we did not think that far ahead, but we will give it some thought before the Monday so that we have a fair rule in place.

Ladbrokes Specials on Wednesdays

Although the league part is over, Ladbrokes tournaments are still going strong every Wednesday evening at 8 PM. With €150 added every week, these still provide a sick value that only few are taking advantage of at the time.

With about thirty entrants and €2 buy-in, first prize has been in the 40x buy-in region. Just two days ago, the latest winner ‘margosha69’ took home €80 for couple hours of play. I am not saying that this is huge money, but I’d rather have it in my pocket than see it go to someone else’s – and I don’t know about prizes where you live, but €80 can sure buy a lot of booze around here!

Butting Heads on Wednesdays

Boyle Poker Heads Up league still going on Boyle Poker - and if you are mano-a-mano type of guy, this is just down your alley (no pun intended). Playing down on Wednesdays nights, this heads-up league creates healthy competition within the PokerTube community and guys have really been enjoying the ride so far. If you are up for it, click the text and make the account, you know the drill!

Yachting Thursdays

…where we give you a yacht! No we don’t. But these tournaments are really well worth your time as the fields are quite small and €250 guarantee is like never met, so overlays make it great value for €5 entry.

Another thing making it well worth in general is the fishiness factor. You can easily turn your winnings from these tournaments into a small fortune with just a little good run, because that’s all you need if you’ve been around for a while. Games on Yachting are really soft and a lot of money is sitting there at the tables, ready for taking. So hop into the pool and catch yourself some fishies!

Conquer the Everest

Weekends are great times for road trips, hiking and similar healthy shenanigans, so conquering Everest on Sundays sounds like a plan. And for lazier amongst us, being able to do it without ever leaving the room makes it that more appealing.

These deepstack tournaments will provide you with a lot of entertainment for a €3 buy-in, and there is of course some added money (we wouldn’t have it any other way). Good people at Everest add €100 every week to be divided between the most successful, and there is another $1,000 waiting to be distributed amongst the top three spots in the league.
