PokerTube Weekly: Willy Hill August Hunt Begins, Rory Sits One Out

Yet another week of great value added tournaments is behind us, and we made couple more PokerTubers happy (or at least we hope so). There was a lot of money to go around, and quite a few players got their share of the pie.

Last week, we saw the first PokerTubers claim their PlayStation 4 and iPad Mini. We've already mentioned them in the last week's article, but here is another shout for CoopsAylt and BettingAgain who were able to top the leaderboard and earn these sweet prizes.

Last night, we saw the very first tournament of the August leg of the league, as everybody's points were reset and it was a time for the new chase. As it is standard for these tournaments, the number of entrants was rather small, as only 43 players registered to play. For the buyin of only €3, they got to compete for the first place in the amount of €140 – thanks to €250 added to every single tournament by William Hill.

User Minor15 ended up in the heads up battle against one of the guys who's been with us for quite some time – Airstripper. However, last night it was Minor15 who ran just a little bit better and was able to claim all the chips in play together with the first place of €140. Airstripper took home €83 for his runner up finish.

Total of six players got paid, and even sixth place finisher Back2BackAA got very nice return on his €3 investment, banking €26.5. Third place fnshsna3 pocketed just shy of €57. Everybody had a great time, and quite a few got to walk away with nice profit so, just like every time, William Hill event was a huge success.

It always amazes me how small turnout these events get. It's almost like people hate money. As far as tournaments go, these offer some amazing value with the amount added to each prize pool. On top of that, the monthly leaderboard giving away Play Stations and iPads just gives more reasons to get involved, so if you are still not playing in these – waste no time and create your account. You will be missing on so much value if you don't!

And talking about the leaderboard, Minor15 has vaulted into the lead with 15 points, followed by 'Airstriper' with 13 and 'fnshsna3' on 11. There are three more tournaments for the month of August, so plenty of time to get in the mix still. Next event takes place on Monday, August 11, 20:00 GMT – make sure to grab your seat!

Ladbrokes Super League

Super League on Ladbrokes Poker is now one month in. We've mentioned how our own Rory, who does commenting and live streaming for all Poker Tube events, has been killing it thus far. Last week, however, he was kind enough to sit out through the entire tournament and give other players a chance to catch up. That caused some gratitude back on the forum, but if we had to guess, Rory himself was probably pretty pissed that he forgot about it or wasn’t able to make it.

As it was, KomapLB, another one of PokerTube regulars, was able to seize the day and win the first place money of €81.40, which is very nice return on investment for €2 buyin in a tournament with under 30 players. But once again, these are special value added tournaments for PokerTube users, and for this League, Ladbrokes adds extra €150 in every event. PDCWorldChampion finished in second place and earned €55, while herrryt and Baggers13 went three and four, earning €33 and €22 respectively.

This caused some changes on the leaderboard, but Rory still reigns supreme. Komap was able to climb to the second place, sharing it with PacManOdessa as both have 15 points. Remember, when the League ends in September, top three will get even more free cash - €300, €200 and €100 respectively for top three spots.

Announcement: Heads Up Super League on Boyle Poker

It is good to vary things a bit from time to time, and this is why we've decided to offer Poker Tube users a whole new heads-up league on Boyle Poker. Featuring €5 buyin and open to all Poker Tube accounts, the League will start on August 13th and run for ten weeks, every Wednesday.
