The Eureka4 Prague event is officially in the books as the biggest Eureka event to date. Things started to shape up after the Day 1A, which attracted 475 players, but it was the Day 1B that when the numbers really went through the roof, as astounding number of 1,263 players joined the action. Together, they’ve created the field of 1,738 entrants.

The huge turnout resulted in the huge prize pool, guaranteeing the first prize of €280,000, with everyone making the final table earning in excess of €20k. The total of 255 players made the money on Day 2, earning the minimum of €1,800. The last player to exit without cashing was Ori Muller from Israel. Although three more players were all in on the same hand, he was the only one knocked out, while things went the short-stacks’ way on the other tables.

When the Day 2 started yesterday, 542 players took their seats, looking to make the money and progress further towards the final table. Ten levels later, that number was reduced to just 57 who came back today, minutes ago, to continue their attempt at the Eureka title.

Bagging the chip lead yesterday was EPT9 Barcelona finalist Antonin Duda, who somehow managed to turn his stack of 51k (or 32 big blinds) into a massive 1,740,000. He is accompanied near the top by Athanasios Xenodochidis, Lucas Blanco and Dario Sammartino.

Some well known faces still in the crowd include Sergio Aido and Jose Carlos Garcia. Team PokerStars Pro representatives did not fare as well, as the last three standing were all eliminated yesterday, albeit not before making the money. Eugene Katchalov, Martin Hruby and Julien Brecard will not be taking home any trophies this time over. Ivan Soshnikov made an interesting choice to be blinded out in the Main Event and instead focus his attention on the €50k Super-High Roller. So far it has worked well for him, as he finished the chip leader yesterday in the said event.

The action has restarted today at 12pm in Prague as the remaining 57 battle it out on the green felt. When it is all said and done, we will have our final table of nine and the names of those who will be in the position to play some cards and move some chips around with a shot at the massive €280k first place money.

The tournament organizers have done a great job, attracting a huge number of players to the Czech capital in lieu of the European Poker Tour Main Event which, if the Eureka numbers are any indicator, could truly be a massive one as well!
