The bright lights of the Las Vegas strip is the next stop for Sandra ‘MommyGingery’ Lefler, the newly-crowned ‘Global Poker Grizzly Games Champion’ set to take her seat representing Global Poker in the Wynn Classic as reward for her stunning leaderboard race victory in the online site’s recent festival.

"I love playing on Global Poker!” Sandra told PokerTube after her tiebreak victory, and it turns out she won’t have far to travel to indulge her champion’s bonus prize.

“I live in Las Vegas and we actually have a large group of Global Poker players that live here and all play together in the live casinos,” she explained, adding, “It is great to be able to represent Global Poker here in my home town.”

The Grizzly Games saw record-breaking numbers in its month-long, 200 event, $1.5million guaranteed series and it was the two victories Sandra landed among her many deep runs which secured the overall Champion title, despite missing out on a couple of events.

“I actually wanted to play all of them,” she said, as she had done with last year’s Global Poker Eagle Cup, but explained, “We went on a holiday to the Grand Canyon. We had really bad internet down there so I ended up missing two of them!”

Although a cash game player when she hits the live tables - Limit and 2/5 No Limit tables around Vegas her games of choice - Sandra claims it’s the tournament action on Global Poker which she “loves most”.

“I really enjoy the Sit & Gos and the MTTs. I also love the big series that Global Poker does,” citing the fact that she can play online for real money from the comfort of her own home – not something which has been readily available in the USA until Global Poker hit the scene.

“The best thing about Global Poker is that it gives me the ability to play online from home. I have a young son, Brendon, and it is great to be able to be at home with him instead of always having to go out to a live venue to play,” Sandra explained.

Brendon is still too young to join his poker-champion mum as she represents the site at the Wynn Casino next week but there will doubtless be plenty of stories about her on the Global Poker FB page for him to follow.
