The November Nine: Hall of Fame Inductions and a Howard Lederer Appearance

10 Nov
Easily the biggest moment in poker is now only a few hours away – the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event will see nine hopefuls return for the finale of the biggest poker festival on the planet.
The festivities began last night when two new inductees formally entered the Poker Hall of Fame. The ceremony started at 7:30 PM local time at Binion’s Gambling Hall in Las Vegas. Two names that have now officially been added to the list of poker greats are those of well-known poker player Daniel Negreanu and industry veteran Jack McLelland.
Negreanu, who just recently turned 40 and was voted into the Hall of Fame the very first time he was nominated, was thrilled to receive the honor.
There’s something about winning tournaments and player of the year awards that’s fabulous, but when you’re voted for by your peers and recognised by the media and those that are already living members of the Hall of Fame, that’s irreplaceable."
With his induction, KidPoker added another achievement to an already impressive list, becoming the youngest member of the Poker Hall of Fame. The Canadian pro is currently number one on the all-time money list, owns six WSOP bracelets (including a victory in the APAC Main Event), and has cashed six times for seven figure amounts in excess of $1 million – which is more than any other player.
Howard Lederer is Back?
Although Hall of Fame inductions are a big deal, the appearance of Howard Lederer at the ceremony was a huge surprise for everybody present. As reported by www.superpoker.com.br, the man who many hold accountable for the demise of Full Tilt that made lives difficult for many poker players was sitting in the darkest corner of Binion's Casino.
The situation was rectified when PokerStars bought Full Tilt and players received their money, but many still believe that Howard Lederer should continue to be ostracized by the community of which he’s been a part for decades, and which he’s done seriously wrong.
Stage Set for the Main Show
The ceremonial part of the November Nine is now over and what follows is the main part of the show – the final table itself. Nine poker players will take their seats tonight and one life at least will be changed dramatically, as the winner will walk away with $10,000,000.
However, we will have to wait a bit longer for the epilogue, as they will play down to the last three players tonight. Play will be stopped and resume again tomorrow until the new poker world champion is crowned!
