Top Pros AMA and You Still Have Time to Join

If you’ve ever fancied chatting with one of the world’s top poker professionals, now’s your chance to do so – with Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and Antonio Esfandiari all lined up to take your calls in Poker Central’s latest competition.
In fact, they even go one better and call YOU if you’re lucky enough to win – entrants being asked to post a short video, photo or text including #AskThePokerPros, asking them an interesting or unusual question. Whoever they decide has asked the best question gets the call – simple!
If big Phil is your favourite then you’re out of luck as his session finished yesterday, but both Negreanu and Esfandiari – the top 2 all-time tournament earners in the history of the game – are still up for grabs.
The idea is a variation on the Reddit AMA (ask me anything) sessions which regularly see top pros sharing their views with the wider community, and Hellmuth faced a range of questions in his PokerCentral competition.

Jay Bones jay420bones posed the eternal poker query:

Hellmuth’s favorite questions haven’t been released yet, but there doesn’t seem to be anything too controversial being asked of the 14-time WSOP bracelet winner and TV favorite.
This makes a nice change from his Reddit AMA last September, where several people planned to quiz him about his role in the Ultimate Bet scandal. Hollow-man posted:
I want to see him answer some real questions about UB, but there’s probably close to a 0% chance he will. Also this AMA has the potential to be hilarious.”
The new PokerCentral competition is planned over three weeks. Hellmuth’s is closed but week 2 will see Antonio Esfandiari call three lucky people, entries having to be submitted between July 13-19.
The Magician has also fielded questions on Reddit’s AMA before, although attempts to find out how much money he had were swatted away in good mannered fashion.
Esfandiari joked:
I’m not sure you’ll have to ask my CPA [Certified Professional Accountant].”
Probably the strangest or at least most unexpected answer he came up with was when asked about his biggest loss in poker, to which he responded:
Don Cheadle and I played a heads up match where if I lost, I had to do a full blown magic show at his house in a top hat for him and his guests.”
Esfandari wrote:
If I won, he had to come over and cook for me and up to 25 of my guests in a chef's apron. Of course I lost, and now I owe him a magic show.”
Week 3 will feature Daniel Negreanu, the Canadian superstar of poker who is never shy about giving his opinions on matters poker-related or otherwise. Those hoping to have Daniel ring them up for a chat need to submit their questions between July 20-26.
Negreanu has also done an AMA on Reddit, the first question of which saw him asked:
What's a common tell amateurs have?” to which he replied, ”glancing at their chips quickly when they like the flop!”
Another question, “What would you consider your greatest accomplishment outside of poker?” saw the reply:
Honestly, accomplishing the goal of living out my dream life that I envisioned in my late teens and early 20's. Exceeding those dreams really.”
