Unibet have announced their first-ever online series – the Unibet Online Series (UOS) - an 84 event, €300,000 guaranteed, 2-week long extravaganza which will culminate in the €100,000 GTD Main Event, and leaderboard races which will see the overall winner taking their seat in the ‘Battle of Champions’.

Having celebrated 20 years in the business just last year, Unibet are part of the multiple award-winning Kindred Group, one of the largest online gambling companies in the world, and their poker site has decided to join the growing number to reward their following with a big-money series, the UOS offering 3 different levels of buy-in with 28 tournaments in each category.

Buy-ins for every bankroll

  • Nano – buy-ins from €0.10 to €1
  • Low – buy-ins from €2 to €25
  • High – buy-ins from €25 to €100

Currently running their live series in London, which includes stars of the eSports world such as Djari

Unibet will be hoping for a similarly excellent turnout for the online version, which kicks off next Monday 26th February, their team of ambassadors ready to take on the best of the rest in the nano, low and high MTTs (multi-table tournaments) – BalticBlonde Daiva Byrne and Irish duo Dara O’Kearney and Ian Simpson among them.

Race to the top

The leaderboard races will almost certainly be hard- fought affairs and the set-up is very simple….

How to play

  • Get points by playing any nano, low and high MTTs (multi-table tournaments)
  • The top 50% of finishers in all tournaments will earn leaderboard points
  • The leaderboards will award €25,000 in total prizes

That €25k includes a €1500 cash windfall for the overall leaderboard winner, with €700 going to the High winner, €500 to the Low winner and €200 for the Nano winner.

Battle of Champions

The winner of the overall series books their spot at the Battle of Champions, which brings together the best players from Unibet’s live and online events of the 2018 season, Unibet’s Head of Poker David Pomroy explaining to Calvin Ayre’s Lee Davy:

“It will be a live-streamed nine-player event taking place at the start of 2019. The participants will be the four 2018 Unibet Open winners, four Unibet Online Series winners and the winner of the Deep Stack Open leaderboard. We’re still yet to announce the prizepool and finer details, but it’s safe to say that the nine players will be treated like champions and have a prize worth fighting over.”

The Main Event

The series biggie, the €100 buy-in, €100k Guaranteed Main Event is scheduled for March 11th and will be the headliner of the first of four such series’ which Unibet plan, Pomroy stating that:

“This series will become a permanent fixture which we aim to grow over time, with four series’ taking place this year (one after each Unibet Open event)."

He added:

“Hopefully, some new players will see that we’re a site they should start to consider for online tournaments, especially if their bankroll isn’t huge and they don’t want to have to compete in multi-thousand runner fields."
