The past week was marked by the clash of two high stakes regulars – ‘Denoking’ and Doug ‘WCGRider’ Polk, and after they’ve taken a little break from the felt, the two were back at it on Monday. First, as we reported earlier, ‘Denoking’ was able to book a win of over $300K over a short session at $300 / $600 tables, recouping some of his earlier losses.

His comeback was not a long-lived one, however, as their next confrontation saw Polk winning big once again. The clash, which ended up extending over period of 10 hours as reported by the HighStakes DB, saw both players go up and down, but eventually Polk came on top, after catching some good boards. His profit from the match amounted to $278K. HighStakes DB reports that two of other big winners for the day were ‘Follow The Hawk’ and ‘supernova9’ who both came extremely close to breaking a six-figure mark.

Wednesday was marked by Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom. Swedish nosebleeds player has been having some difficulties lately and until this session he was slightly stuck for September. His downfall, seemingly, were sessions played during the later parts of a day, so this time, the Swede only played one 1.5 hour session at the $2K / $4k 2-7 TD tables and, after crushing ‘bbvisbadforme’ heads-up, Blom took home $310K profit according to HighStakes DB.

Dan ‘jungleman12’ Cates also made a profit of $140,000 while Cole South, who got tired of mid-stakes PLO games on Stars, also joined the party on Full Tilt and his adventure on the mixed-game tables saw him walk away with the profit of $105,000 as reported by HighStakes DB.

Action was going strong on Poker Stars as well, where Ben ‘Ben86’ Tollerene made a $148.K profit from the $100 / $200 PLO games.

Jungle’s Wednesday profit came from his games against Patrik ‘FinddaGrind’ Antonius, but the Finn did not wait long to turn the tables around. The two met again on Thursday at the mixed game tables, and after about 70 minutes of action, Patrik was $198K in the black.

The tables over at Poker Stars seem to be getting some traction lately as well. It is not often to see a $1K / $2K 2-7 TD games start over there, but on Thursday, the likes of Jason Mercier, George Danzer, ‘Isildur1’ and ‘SamRostan’ all gathered for some action. Mercier was the happiest puppy in the bunch, as he walked away with $182K profit according to HighStakes DB.

Sometimes, winning big doesn’t take long, as demonstrated by Cort ‘thecortser’ Kibler-Melby. He sat 'SanIker' on Friday and over just 30-minutes, he rid the German pro of $250,000 of his September’s profits. This just goes to show how swingy a game 2-7 TD can be.

Another big winner of the day was ‘punting-peddler’ who squared with Patrik ‘FinddaGrind’ Antonius at the 8-game tables and after 4.5 hours of play, the Finn was $190K lighter.

The last big daily winner of this report is Alex ‘PostflopAction’ Kostritsyn. Young Russian pro currently belongs to the small group of players that regularly win and rarely have big losing sessions. On Saturday, ‘PostflopAction’ booked a $236K profit according to HighStakes DB all of which came from Patrik Antonius, who hasn’t had the most pleasurable week.

Bling Blang Blaow

Patrik Antonius had some trouble on the felt, but the final damage of $386K is not too big of a deal, considering ‘FinddaGrind’ is up nearly $6 million lifetime on the Full Tilt highstakes tables. Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates did not have the winning week but, again, being up over $10MM on Full Tilt according to High Stakes DB, Jungle will not be to upset over losing $153K the past week.

Viktor Blom booked a winning 7-day stretch, taking $179,000 off the tables and getting back into the black zone for the month. However, if he is to do it for the lifetime results, the Swede has his work cut out for him, as he has more than $3 million difference to make up for.

Ben ‘Ben86’ Tollerene had a very decent week over on Poker Stars, where he profited $238,600, mostly from the high stakes PLO games. Likewise, PokerStars Team Pro member Jason Mercier padded his pockets with $178K in cash after playing 3.5K hands on Stars last week.

Gus Hansen is still MIA.
