Interest for online nosebleeds always runs high amongst devoted poker fans, and it is not without reason. One can debate skill of some of the players involved all the one wants, but these guys play poker for piles of money and the adrenaline surge is unlike anywhere else on the planet. With recent resurfacing of Gus Hansen, the interest has only grown bigger all over the virtual community.

First week of his latest attempt at highstakes games was not very kind for Gus, but during the Sunday (August 10th) games, both he and samrostan were able to recoup some of the losses according to HighstakesDB. ‘samrostan’ was the big winner, walking away with almost $357K in black, while Gus took $167,000 off the tables. Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom enjoyed a good Sunday as well, as he profited $196.6K. Majority of action, as usual, took place at 8-game and 2-7 TD tables.

Games continued on Monday and HighstakesDB reports the action was really heated. Players took it to the 8-game tables and it was a really big day for the Russian pro Alexander 'PostflopAction' Kostritsyn who ended the day $481,000 in the black. It wasn’t too bad of a day for punting-peddler either, as he banked more than $405K. Gus continued to win, adding $209,000 to his weekly profit. Ike ‘luvtheWNBA' Haxton also booked a six figure day.

Tuesday saw Denoking taking on another top pro, after losing a big chunk to Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates last week. This time he faced Isaac ‘luvtheWNBA' Haxton over three heads up tables, playing $300/$600 according to HighstakesDB. This time, ‘Denoking’ ran better and was able to take $289K off Ike and combined with his earlier profit, he finished the day with $344,700 profit. German pro Kagome Kagome also had a six figure day, profiting just shy of $137K from the evening 2-7 TD session.

Another German pro, SanIker, started his recovery after losing some ground during the previous period. Thursday saw him walk away the biggest winner from TD tables, with profit $250K and change. However, according to HighstakesDB, he started dropping that profit to Gus soon after the clock struck midnight.

Hansen started Friday winning $103K from ‘SanIker’ during a short heads-up match. Then he booked another big session at the mixed game tables and, in total, his day ended with a profit of $236,000. The only one with similar results was ‘punting-peddler’ who ended with $207K to the good. TrueTeller and Isildur1 also had a winning day ($78K and $35.6K respectively).

Finally, Saturday saw Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates take his deserved place at the top of the profit leader board. Jungleman has recently topped $10 million mark in high stakes winnings on Full Tilt, and on Saturday, he had another big six-figure day, earning $300,700 according to HighStakesDB reports. Alex ‘Alexonmoon’ Luneau also had a good day, with the profit of $198K. Gus Hansen was once again punished, as he was down $550K at one point during the day and although he was able to recover some of that, he still booked a $226K loss.

Damage Report

Gus Hansen was able to book a profitable week despite the bad last day and he earned $510,000 during the past seven days. We will see can Gus keep this upswing going or things that happened on Saturday were omen of what is to come.

Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom had a break-even week, profiting just $6,000, while Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates suffered a small loss overall, stuck about $32K.

Despite starting strong, Russian player Alexander 'PostflopAction' Kostritsyn ended up stuck about $74,000. Similarly, Ike Haxton booked a losing week to the tune of $174K, just like SanIker who dropped almost $186,000 at the tables.

Denoking had a good seven day span, although most of his profit came from the match from Ike Haxton, as he ended with the profit of $337,600.

Big loser of the week was samrostan who, despite of a good start, finished deep in the red zone, with the loss of $494K.
