The action at the most railed online-tables seems to be slowly picking up pace once again. As times get colder and just staying inside starts feeling as the best available option, we are almost certain to see numbers grow further.
The first day worth mentioning from the past week is Sunday, when the main action happened between the ever-present Russian Alex ‘PostflopAction’ Kostritsyn and the German ‘bbvisbadforme’. As HighStakesDB reports, the match ended with an unusual result, as the Russian was stuck nearly $102k after somewhat shorter action at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables. Rest of the action took place over on PokerStars, where ‘AckmaJin’ and ‘PimpyLimpy’ made upwards of $40k profit.
Monday was a huge day for Cort ‘thecortster’ Kibler-Melby. He took it to the $2k / $4k 2-7 TD tables with the Frenchman Alex ‘Alexonmoon’ Luneau. It was a long match (with some breaks) and although ‘thecortster’ was in the lead for the most part, Luneau was threatening to come back to even at one point couple hours into the play. However, it was not to be for the French as during the very last session Kibler-Melby turned up the heat ending up with the profit of $181k according to HighStakesDB. Over on Stars, ‘Ravenswood13’ made the profit in excess of $80k playing $400/$800 mixed-game tables.
‘Alexonmoon’ and ‘thecortster’ were really going at it past seven days, as apart from the Monday matches, they’ve also played some on Sunday and things were really not looking good for Luneau as he was stuck about $230k. However, on Tuesday, the French pro bounced back big time, winning back $149,000 according to HighStakesDB. More than $100k of these winnings came from his matches against ‘thecortster’, but he also took some off the ‘PostflopAction’, whose week was not going tremendously well. $50 / $100 tables on PokerStars also saw their share of action and Rui ‘PepperoniF’ Cao mastered the profit of $77.7k. ‘PimpyLimpy’ was not far behind either, as his take for the day amounted to $74.4k according to HighStakesDB reports.
We haven’t seen much of the German player ‘Kagome Kagome’ lately, but the past week he was back in style. On Thursday, he mastered the profit of $93k after successful clashes against the fellow countryman ‘SanIker’ and the Frenchman Alex Luneau who could not hold on to his upswing from the Wednesday. ‘PepperoniF’ continued with his good streak on PokerStars however and mastered the profit of $76k HighStakesDB reports.
‘Kagome Kagome’ was the one to beat on Friday as well, and this time he was not satisfied with the small take. The German walked away with the profit of 300k. The big loser in these clashes was ‘Alexonmoon’ who dropped $357k through the day, with some of it going to other players as well, as the two were briefly joined by ‘SanIker’ and Phil ‘Polarizing’ Ivey. Ivey dropped some, but ‘SanIker’ added $96k to his bankroll and with some more action later on, he finished the day winning $157k.
Alexander Kostritsyn was failing to find luck on Full Tilt, but things went much better for him on PokerStars where ‘joiso’ turned the profit of $201.7k according to HighStakesDB. His profits came from the FLO8 tables where ‘vandir4ek’ was the one getting the raw deal.
Finally, Saturday saw one big winner and it was, once again, ‘Kagome Kagome’. This time, the German took ‘only’ $129k for his efforts at the tables. ‘Alexonmoon’ was the one who made this possible, dropping heaps at the 2-7 TD tables. There were no other big winners on Saturday according to HighStakesDB as Phil Ivey was in the second place for the day with the profit of $36.8k.
Real Money on the Virtual Felt
If you have somehow missed it from the report, the big winner for the past week was ‘Kagome Kagome’. The German made a profit in excess of $500k ($522,783 to be precise, according to HighStakesDB) and we can officially say he has had a good week.
Things were not that hot for the French representative in the everlasting nosebleeds Olympics, as Alex ‘Alexonmoon’ Luneau dropped a total of $624k during the seven day period. Thing just weren’t working for the pro at the tables.
It seemed like the Russian pro Alex Kostritsyn could be having a losing week as the things were not really going his way at the felt either, but he made up (and then some) for all of his losses on Full Tilt playing on PokerStars and actually ends the week with around $40k in profit.
Talking about PokerStars, Rui ‘PepperoniF’ Cao, a PLO specialist, made a nice little profit of $109k coming from, naturally, PLO tables. As for Phil ‘Polarizing’ Ivey, he played a couple of sessions, dropped a little over $30k and that was unfortunately all we saw from him.
