Highstakes online tables were packed with action last week. With not much happening in terms of tournaments these days, players are passing some time passing six-figure pots across the felt and creating some real excitement for the rail birds.

Players did not wait long to start this week’s action, as they went full steam ahead on Monday already. Cort ‘thecortster’ Kibler-Melby had a really rough last week, ending with a loss in excess of $600,000, but things started off well for him last week. Name of the game was 2-7 triple draw, where ‘thecorster’ was facing the likes of ‘Isildur1’, ‘Trueteller’, ‘samrostan’ and ‘SanIker’.

According to the HighstakesDB, ‘thecortster’ was able to book a winning session to the tune of $212K, while it was a rough eight hours for ‘Isildur1’, who ended up dropping $182,000. This didn’t faze Blom too much however, as he was back at it the next day.

The majority of Blom’s play took place against the player known as ‘AthaCliath’ who made his comeback to the highstakes scene after a long break. The two spread most of their actions on 2-7 and 8-game nosebleeds tables in some insane heads-up action. The day saw both players going through six-figure upswings, eventually leading to Isildur1 making hefty profit of nearly $248K. Although Blom took the best of ‘AthaCliath’, he was still able to save the day after dominating the 8-game ring game involving ‘samrostan’, ‘Alexonmoon’ and ‘PostflopAction’. In the end, he made a nice profit of $84,000 according to HighstakesDB.

‘SanIker’ had his day on Wednesday, when he was able to book a profit of just shy of $254K on big $2k/$4k 2-7 NL tables, winning most of his money off ‘samrostan’ and ‘Trueteller’. ‘AthaCliath’ booked another winning day as well, raking in another $40K. As for PokerStars nosebleeds tables, Vladimir ‘GVOZDIKA55’ Schemelev made $69,000 playing $400/$800 mixed games against ‘Ra1syDa1sy’.

Thursday was easily the biggest day of the week, as we were reminded of the good old days of ‘Isildur1’. Vast majority of his $647,000 profit for the day came from playing FLO8 tables against ‘Carlooo13’. He was able to take $116K of him during the first session, and then added another $214.4K to his winnings in a session against ‘thecortster’. Things started turning on Blom during the later sessions as he started bleeding his profits massively to ‘Kagome Kagome’ and ‘Carlooo13’.

This did not deter Viktor, as he’s never been the one to give up, and although he ended up losing about $115K to ‘Kagome Kagome’, ‘Isildur1’ ended up making $420,000 profit against ‘Carlooo13’ and total profit of $647.3K for the day. German pro ‘Kagome Kagome’ ended the day with $268,000 profit as well according to HightstakesDB.

Friday saw ‘SanIker’ once again going super strong, booking a win of $716,000. He played all the usual suspects on 2-7 $2k/$4k tables and things really went south for Viktor Blom who dropped nearly half a million before the day was over. However, he bounced back quickly, as he made $238K on Friday and HighstakesDB reports the majority of that profit came from the bankroll of ‘thecortster’. Another big winner for the day was once again ‘SanIker’, who added further $164,000 to his roll.

All Said and Done

Clearly, money was flying all over the place, but let us see what it all looked like after seven days have passed.

For Victor ‘Isildur1’ Blom, things are finally looking up, as the HighstakesDB has him at whooping $870.000 in profits for the week. This is finally a really meaningful score to help his overall year, as he is now down only $459K, which is a huge step in right direction.

SanIker had an even stronger week, making slightly over a million and after a long downwards trend that started in March, he was finally able to turn his year around, bringing his losses to just $365,000.

Although thins were looking up for Cort ‘thecortster’ Kibler-Melby at the start of the week, he couldn’t keep up and ended up almost $252,000 in the red after seven days of play. ‘Kagome Kagome’ did not fare well either, as German pro finished stuck about $117,000. 'samrostan' definitely had the worst week of all the big game regulars, as he ended down $675,000.
