There have been a few interesting changes in trend in the online poker traffic rankings over the last week, which could lead to an intriguing start to 2015 for the online poker market.
PokerStars place in the rankings is not one of them, however, as it continues to sit firmly in top spot on PokerScout’s rankings. The network had a seven day player traffic average of 19500 players, which was unchanged from this time last week.
888poker’s ranking and player traffic numbers also remained unchanged this week. The company continues to be the main alternative to PokerStars and recorded a traffic average of 2400 players.
That still gives it a respectable buffer over third placed iPoker, which should keep 888poker in second place for the rest of this year. However, its second place spot could be firmly under threat from iPoker in January should it continue the momentum it’s been gaining this month.

The network has now firmly entrenched itself in third place, but it gained a further increase this week to put its seven day player average up to 2100 players, a gain of 100 over the last week.
Should iPoker continue to make more gains over the next few weeks, 888poker will well and truly be in the firing line and will risk losing its coveted second place spot on the rankings.
The two-week long battle for fourth place appears to be over for now and Full Tilt emerged victorious. The network has now claimed the fourth spot as its own and boasts a seven day player traffic average of 1650, an increase of 150 over the last two weeks.
That has put it ahead of PartyPoker, who has now retained its usual spot in fifth place. Its player traffic numbers remain unchanged at 1450, but it is still in a solid position to challenge Full Tilt for the fourth spot in the next few weeks.
Bodog has gotten the short end of the fourth place battle, having been the only network of the three to have suffered a decrease in players in the battle’s aftermath.

The company’s seven day player average fell by 50 to currently stand at 1400, which has put it in equal sixth place on the rankings. However, it won’t take much to boost its average and take fifth spot from PartyPoker, which is likely to motivate the network to attract more players.
The same can be said for PokerStars.it, which also sits in sixth place with an average of 1400 players. It has previously shown that it can attract greater numbers of players to its network and if it can do the same in the near future it may lead to a new battle, this time for fifth place.
Winamax.fr, Adjarabet and PokerStars.es rounded out the rest of the top ten, while eleventh placed PokerStars.fr was the only other network to attract an average of over 1000 players over the week.
In the US, Party Borgata continues to lead the way in New Jersey with a seven day player average of 150, while WSOP’s online poker network also kept its spot as the top network in Nevada, where it also has an average of 150 players over the past week.
