Weekly Online Poker Traffic Update: Adjarabet Pushes iPoker Aside to Take the Third Spot

Move over iPoker and 888poker, there is another poker company now in clear contention to be the biggest poker network not named PokerStars.

That would be Adjarabet, who continues to amaze observers and fans in the poker world by maintaining its high poker traffic numbers.

The Georgian-based network stayed steady with a seven-day player average of 1800 players this week, which was enough to move it up from fourth place into third.

It is the continuation of an awesome fairy tale-like story for the network, which shot up PokerScout’s player traffic rankings almost overnight after it experienced a sharp rise in player numbers.

An impressive run it may be, but Adjarabet needs to attract even more players to its network if it wishes to be the second largest poker network in terms of player traffic.

That is because 888poker, which kept its second spot this week, has shown no signs of letting up. In fact, it has increased its seven-day player average to 2400 this week, 100 more than last week’s average.

The small increase has given the network a great deal of breathing space between it and the other major online poker networks.

Last week, we at PokerTube put forward the possibility that Adjarabet could soon take over iPoker on the rankings lists, given the decreasing trend of player numbers on the iPoker network.

Well, that possibility is now a reality as iPoker slipped to fourth spot this week. The network currently has a seven-day player average of 1700, which is down from 1900 this time last week and 2200 a fortnight ago.

The network is likely hoping that its numbers go back up as it is now in the direct firing lines of both PartyPoker and Full Tilt, who lag just behind iPoker in the PokerScout rankings.

We at PokerTube also anticipated that the battle for fifth spot may intensify as the player average gap between PartyPoker and Full Tilt got ever smaller.

That has proven to be correct this week as both networks currently share the fifth spot with seven-day averages of 1600 players each.

It was a good turn of events for PartyPoker, which had fallen below the 1500 player mark in recent weeks. Full Tilt also had an increase (100 players) in its average, but it was not enough to keep the fifth spot to itself.

The next few weeks should prove very interesting in seeing which of the two networks will win the battle for fifth place on the rankings list.

As always, PokerStars continues to have a stranglehold on the online poker market. It maintained its seven-day average of 18500 players this week and shows no sign of letting up as winter approaches in the northern hemisphere.

In the US, Party Borgata continues to lead the way in New Jersey with a seven day player average of 130, while WSOP’s online poker network also kept its spot as the top network in Nevada, having boasted an average of 85 players for the past seven day period.
