For many poker players winning a single WSOP bracelet is something that is dreamed of, besides of course winning vast amounts of cash, there is arguably no more prestigious award in poker than a bracelet.

A few players have not only won one bracelet, but have won several. We at PokerTube have highlighted and celebrated those winners, and will answer the question - who has the most WSOP bracelets in 2015 and how have the rankings changed?

Phil Hellmuth

Known among many in the poker world as the Poker Brat, Phil Hellmuth is a polarizing figure of the game, and is a man many love to hate. Although whatever people think of Phil, at the end of the day the facts speak for themselves.

Hellmuth tops the list of the most WSOP Bracelets and, quite frankly, he sits atop that list in a league of his own. He has a whopping 14 bracelets to his name, the first of which came back in 1989 when the then 24-year-old made history by becoming the youngest player to ever win the WSOP Main Event.

That record may have since been broken, but he has been able to maintain his reputation as one of the best tournament poker players in the world in part by adding more bracelets to his tally. He won five more bracelets in the 1990's and five more in the 2000's, which has perched him atop of the list of bracelet winners.

The American showed no signs of slowing down as he approached his fifties, as Hellmuth won yet another bracelet at the 2012 WSOP just before taking out the 2012 WSOP Europe Main Event. Another Bracelet win in the $10,000 Seven-Card Razz event at this year’s WSOP has shown that Hellmuth may not be finished just yet.

Doyle Brunson

If Hellmuth is considered poker’s brat, then Brunson would be considered its foremost pioneer. He was one of seven players to have played in the inaugural WSOP Main Event way back in 1970, and continues to be a staple at the series decades later.

It took Brunson six years to win his first ever event at the WSOP, which came in 1976 when he won the Duece to Seven Draw event. A second bracelet quickly followed when he took out the Main Event in the same year. He won the Main Event again the year after, and took his overall bracelet tally to six by the end of the 1970s.

Twelve years went by before Brunson won his next Bracelet, which came in a $2,500 No Limit event in the 1991 WSOP. Bracelet wins in 1998 and 2003 took his overall tally to nine, and it was a victory in the $5,000 No Limit Shorthanded Texas Hold'em event in the 2005 WSOP that put Brunson into the double digits.

Johnny Chan

most WSOP bracelets?

Johnny Chan first made his mark on poker in the 1980s, and he quickly established himself as one of the best players to grace the game. His 1987 and 1988 WSOP Main Event victories make him one of just a handful of players to have ever won back to back Main Events. Chan came close to being the only player to win three consecutive WSOP Main Events, but had to settle for runner-up in 1989 after losing to Hellmuth.

Chan had won five WSOP bracelets by the end of the 1990s and a win in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event in 2000 kept them coming. He won yet another bracelet at the 2002 WSOP which was followed by two more wins in the 2003 series – the first time Chan had ever won more than one WSOP bracelet in the same year.

While many wondered if Chan could win another WSOP event, he did so just two years later when he won the $2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em event at the 2005 WSOP. In doing so, Chan became the first ever player to win 10 WSOP bracelets. While that feat has since been broken by Hellmuth, no other players have yet been able to surpass Chan’s ten bracelet score.

Phil Ivey

Arguably one of the most notable poker figures in the 21st century, dubbed the Tiger Woods of Poker, Phil Ivey is one of just three players to have racked up 10 WSOP bracelets in his career to date. When one looks at Ivey’s WSOP accolades, it's no surprise that he is widely considered to be one of the best poker players in the world today.

Ivey won his first bracelet in 2000 after he took out the $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha event. In 2002 he became one of just four players (which has since increased to five) to win three WSOP bracelets in one series, and won another Bracelet in 2005 to make it five total - all of this before Ivey even turned 30.

He since won five more bracelets, with his last win coming in 2014. That victory made Ivey the youngest of the four players to win their tenth bracelet, as well as the player to have won ten bracelets in the shortest amount of time. At just 39, it will come as little surprise when Ivey adds even more WSOP bracelets to his existing collection.
