WSOP Releases 2019 Schedule Marking 50th Anniversary
5 years ago12 Feb
The WSOP is celebrating its 50th year in existence in 2019 and is commemorating the occasion with a number of unique and special tournaments.
The full live tournament schedule (May 28 thru July 16) has been released and it includes a $1,000 buy-in Mini Main Event scheduled two days prior to the prestigious $10K Main Event, the first-ever Six plus Hold'em bracelet event, a $50,000 buy-in 50th Anniversary Event, One-Day Super Turbo tournaments, and a reduced buy-in Colossus at $400.
At that price the Colossus will surely attract the recs. However, the casual crowd likely won't be found in events with buy-ins at $10,000 and up, of which there will be 20 this year.
The full 2019 WSOP live schedule can be found by clicking on the tweet below.
Players who peruse the schedule will notice that there are no online bracelet events listed as of yet. The recent DoJ reinterpretation of the 1961 Wire Act is the reason behind the delay.
Still to be determined is whether New Jersey players who are part of the interstate player pool will be allowed to compete as the new DoJ opinion seemingly forbids wagers across state lines. However, there will be online bracelet events - and even more than last year.
