The creative minds at the French poker site Winamax are at it again, introducing yet another SitNGo variant that may eventually be copied industry-wide if the idea proves popular following a trial run.

The game is entitled "Sit & Go Killer" and pays out the prize pool in bounties. Not a portion of the prize pool - all of it. There are no in the money payouts, just knockouts.

Each player that you knock out results in their bounty being added to your bankroll. A cool feature of the concept is that one KO will get your buy-in back plus a little more, meaning that the elimination of just one opponent will make the game a profitable endeavor. For instance a €0.50 buy-in Killer Sit & Go will pay €0.54 when knocking out a table foe.

On Trial

Currently, Winamax.fr is offering the knockout, bounty-only format in 6-max, low stakes SitNGos, with an option to spread the concept to other SitNGo table sizes or games if the experiment catches on. With poker site operators showing a propensity to copy each other's innovative undertakings in years passed, we may find Sit & Go Killer games at other poker rooms sooner rather than later.

Winamax, of course, gave us lottery-style Jackpot SitnGos under the name of Expresso Poker in 2013. A number of other poker sites have since followed suit with their own versions of the hyper-turbo games. PokerStars has practically made it their own with the release of Spin & Go in 2014.

Sit & Go Killer may find a fan base in recreational players and Winamax seems to have rolled out the game with casual players in mind. A Winamax rep called the format "ideal for beginners who do not have to win the tournament to earn the money."

Will the bounty-only SitNGo format become popular?
