Nonprofit group Campaign for Accountability and Guardian Newshave asked Clark County District Judge to disclose the contents of private investigator’s documents that could reveal connections between Las Vegas Sands and members of Chinese triads. They have filed separate motions to disclose the contents of the report which was filed alongside with all the evidence in a former Las Vegas Sands employee’s lawsuit against the Las Vegas Sands.

The report’s author is private investigator and former Hong Kong police official named Steve Vickers, who has been investigating organized crime activities by Chinese Triads. So-called Vicker’s Report is of a public interest as the nonprofit group claims. The group wants to have access to the report because they believe that it might help to determine if Sheldon Adelson, a well known Republican donor, used money acquired from criminal activities for the election donations.

According to the motion from the group, Adelson's alleged connections with Chinese triads and ties to corrupt and illegal businesses are raising serious questions. There is also a possibility that Sheldon’s illegal practices led to corruption in the gaming industry in Nevada. However Campaign for Accountability wants to know whether Sheldon’s illegal business was source of money used to support the campaign and if he had used the anonymity provided by the campaign donations to launder money.

Ron Reese, spokesman for Las Vegas Sands, refused to comment this motion on behalf of Sheldon Adelson and the company.

It is well known that Macau derives its profit from the junkets controlled by the triads, who are involved in money laundering. The group believes that there is a possibility that Sheldon used money linked to Macau’s criminal activity to fund candidates for the federal office.

According to the Guardian’s motion the public has right to know the content of the report and to be informed about Sheldon’s role in electoral politics. A hearing on the Guardian motion will take place on June 18th.

The motions came in right time to help out with the evidence in the Steven Jacobs’ lawsuit against Las Vegas Sands and Sheldon Adelson. Former Las Vegas Sands’ employee has filed a case after he lost his job back in 2010. According to Jacobs' explanation, he was fired because he opposed doing business with people linked to Chinese organized crime group.

In the court, casino mogul has accused Jacobs of being delusional, claiming that he was fired only due to his incompetence. Adelson has answered many difficult questions during the court session and he also gave testimony that contradicted his own executives and evidence that were presented in court.

It was reported that if all allegations against Sheldon are found to be true, his gambling license will probably be in jeopardy.
