Andrew Neeme: Oceans Eleven Poker

Andrew Neeme made the four-hour drive from his "office" in Las Vegas to Oceanside, California with hopes of breaking free from his "downswing or sideways swing" in a different poker room.

But not before stopping in the desert along the way to try out his new drone, a fine-looking piece of technology that will certainly enhance Andrew's vlogs from here on out. This particular vlog, #31 in the Neeme collection, was already enhanced when viewers were spared the long drive along with the popular vlogger and were magically teleported to the Oceans Eleven Casino.

Not So Favorable

Neeme has developed quite a reputation among his followers for a seemingly uncanny ability to flop sets. We have seen it time and again on previous vlogs, causing a number of commenters to wonder whether the Michigan native is perhaps the luckiest poker player alive.

In an attempt to show that his percentage of flopped sets is no greater than you or I and is likely in tune with the law of averages, Neeme's hand analysis included a whiff on a low pocket pair. The vlogger insisted that such misses typically number about a dozen or so per session.

Those whiffs are likely not normally recapped by Neeme because how exciting would such losing hands be for us watching at home? We would rather be privy to a three-barrel bluff in which Andrew - like a boss - takes down the pot with 10-high, as was done at Oceans Eleven.

Proper Fold?

Also more exciting than a pocket pair that fails to connect on the flop is a hand that finds Neeme with a flush draw and an inside straight draw on the turn. The nut flush lands on the river, albeit pairing the board, leading to the possibility that one of his three opponents may have hit a full boat.

With checks all around to him, Andrew bets $380 into a $560 pot, only to watch the straddler raise to $1,100. Neeme puts the check-raiser on a full house, folding his hand rather than risk another $720 to see his opponent's cards.

The end result for the session was a $1,020 loss. However, the defeat did nothing to dampen Neeme's enthusiasm for his trip to Oceans Eleven, as he remarked about being excited and prepared to get back to the grind again the next day.
