Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger

Andrew Lichtenberger has developed a reputation as a solid all-round pro capable of playing both tournaments and cash-games.

Born September 20th 1987 in East Northport, New York, Andrew Lichtenberger has developed a reputation as a solid all-round pro capable of playing both tournaments and cash-games at the highest stakes.

As a teenager Lichtenberger was a competitive bowler, before starting to play poker whilst attending Stony Brook University in New York. He has stated that he was a losing player for around a year, before he began to devote more time to improving as a player. Lichtenberger, playing online as ‘luckychewy’, began to build up his bankroll playing both no-limit hold ‘em and Pot Limit Omaha.

After beginning to transition more towards playing live poker, Lichtenberger’s first World Series of Poker turned out to be incredible. He cashed in five events, including a second placed finish in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold ‘Em Shootout for $215,402. Moreover, Lichtenberger would go on to have a deep run in the Main Event, where he would eventually finish in 18th place to take home $500,557.

A year later in 2010 Lichtenberger would win a $5,000 World Series of Poker Circuit event, outlasting 149 other players to take down the $190,137 first placed prize.

Lichtenberger has also gone on to experience great success in World Poker Tour events, despite never having won one. He has final-tabled three WPTs, finishing 8th, 5th, and 4th respectively, for a combined cash of over $500,000.

A runner-up position in the 3rd Main Event of the now defunct Epic Poker League earned Lichtenberger $514,480, while in 2012 he finished in sixth after final-tabling the WSOP $10,000 Six-Max event for $140,351. Still only 26, Lichtenberger is still young, and it seems likely that he will go on to experience major tournament success soon.
