2015 EPT Barcelona Main Event: Day 6 Juanda Takes The Title
John Juanda left the 2015 EPT Barcelona Main Event €1,022,593 and one EPT trophy richer today after defeating Steve Warburton heads-up.
John Juanda, a founding member of Team Full Tilt, is one of the most accomplished players on the tournament circuit. He was born on July 8, 1971, in Indonesia. He moved to the United States in 1990 and became an athlete and scholar. He was a track star in high school and then went on to receive an MBA from Seattle University.
He has more than 100 major tournament cashes. He also has four World Series of Poker bracelets. Two of them came in 2003, in the pot-limit Omaha and seven-card stud eight-or-better events. His first bracelet came in the 2001 triple-draw lowball ace-to-five event. In 2006, he won the Speed Poker Million Dollar Challenge in Australia, taking home $1 million. In addition to these accomplishments, he was the runner-up in the Card Player 2002 Player of the Year race.
Juanda booked the largest win of his career in 2008, when he won the the main event at the World Series of Poker Europe, to win his fourth bracelet to take home $1,544,575 in prize money. He finished up a successful trip to London by making his first European Poker Tour final table a few days later. He finished in second place at the EPT London High Roller Showdown and took home $573,607 in prize money.
