Juan Pardo Wins Nearly $1 Million in One Month
The month of April has come and gone, but it will always be remembered fondly by Pardo who recorded cashes in three big events to win almost $1 million.
Ranking highly on the Canadian all-time money list for live tournament earnings, Tim Adams has become a recurrent face on the high roller scene. In 2013, he put his name on the list for the historic BIG ONE for ONE DROP event that took place the following year – a $1,000,000 buy-in event. In less than 8 years, Adams had gone from playing $10 buy-ins online to signing up for the biggest tournaments in the world. Speaking on his rise through the ranks, Timothy explained:
‘It’s all about being competitive. I am really competitive and it’s always important to me to keep on improving and challenging myself against the better players’.
In 2012, he picked up his first WSOP bracelet in the $2,500 No Limit Hold’em 4-Handed event. The Canadian won $392,476 along with the gold after outlasting 749 other players – amongst them were veterans of the game such as Isaac Haxton, Lex Veldhuis, Brian Rast and Main Event winner Greg Merson.
Since then, Adams has picked up wins in multiple high roller events, including a victory at the 2016 $25,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller Bellagio Cup XII. In a similarly tough field – with many of the world’s best being attracted to these large buy-in events – Timothy showed once more that he is able to beat the strongest players in the game.
A year on, Adams added a second high roller tournament win to his long list of big scores – this one at the PokerStars Championship in Monte Carlo. Coming in the €25,750 No Limit Hold’em 8-Max Shot Clock event, Tim added another string of poker legends to his hit list including Ole Schemion, Dan Smith and Igor Kurganov.
With thirteen other six-figure scores on his live tournament record, Adams is one of the most successful players to ever come out of Canada – and he isn’t just a one-trick pony. Playing under the screenname ‘Tim0thee’ on PokerStars, he has been known to battle in the toughest online cash-games going against the likes of ‘Trueteller’, ‘Crazy Elior’ and 6-max legend ‘OtB_RedBaron’.
