It seems that effects of the WSOP are starting to become visible, as action at the high stakes tables during the past week was anything but abundant. In fact, there were only a few days that attracted the attention of industrious reporters over at HighStakesDB, the first of those being Wednesday.

Although we haven't heard much from Ilari Sahamies as of late, he got back into the action last week and Wednesday saw him topping the winner's leaderboard after pocketing $127k. 'Ilari FIN' dominated the $100/$200 PokerStars PLO tables, with most of his profit coming from 'jricardosc' and Ben 'Sauce123' Sulsky. There were no other big winners for the day, with Ilari's compatriot Sami 'Lrslzik' Kelopuro raking in the profit of $34,000.

Although things were looking promising for Sahamies, Friday games were not so kind to him, as he took it to the $200/$400 heads-up PLO tables, facing a player going under the online alias 'WithColor'. Despite of playing him for only about an hour, Sahamies dropped some $225k to his opponent, helping him top the daily winners' leaderboard. 'Cobus83' claimed the second place with an overall profit just shy of $83k after holding his own against Mikael 'ChaoRen160' Thuritz.

Thuritz was unfazed, however, as he was back for more on Saturday and this time around, the tables were turned. Swedish pro had his revenge, winning to the tune of $71k against 'Cobus83'. With that win, he almost tied the score and we will no doubt see more confrontations between the two in the future.

...and that's it

This is the first time in a while that we've had a report this short, but factoring in the WSOP, summer time and everything else that comes along with it, some weeks are bound to have somewhat lower traffic.

'WithColor' was somewhat of a dominant force last week, as he accumulated a profit of $275,000 over 550 hands. The majority of this profit came from Ilari Sahamies who, despite of the good start to the week, ended up stuck about $94k.

Things didn't quite work out for Mikael Thuritz either. Although he was able to recover most of his losses to 'Cobus83', other opponents were not as accommodating, so the Swedish pro finished the week in the $130k deep hole.

Other than these, there weren't big other big time winners or losers. Ben 'Sauce123' Sulsky dropped about $58k, while Sami 'Lrslzik' Kelopuro lost to the tune of $61,000.
