We canât say that the last week was bursting with the high stakes action, but it certainly wasnât a dead zone either. With some big pots shipped across the felt and some great banter to add to the excitement, there was plenty going on to keep the railbirds in a good mood.
As mentioned in the last week's article, Alex 'joiso' Kostritsyn ended the bad run that's been following him for a few days and he netted a profit of $122.5k in Sunday games according to HighStakesDB. Another player in a six-figure territory was Norwegian Ola 'Odd_Oddsen' Admundsgard.
Admundsgard finished the day $113,000 richer after holding his own in a 2-hour PLO match against Ilari âIlari_Finâ Sahamies and âBen86â. Other two notable winners were âbajskorven87â and âChaoRen160â who boosted their roles with the profit of $70k each.
Tables on Monday were marked by the presence of one of the most feared online high stakes players, Dan âw00ki3zâ Cates. After playing for seven hours at the PokerStars 8-game tables, mixed with some HU PLO action, Cates boosted his roll with a nice $87k win.
A player going under the alias âbazzzzzzzâ was second on the winnersâ list, netting a profit of $85.9k. âJayP-AAâ was the one on the other side as he dropped the hefty sum to his opponent after only an hour of play at the PLO tables. âCrazy_Eliorâ had a successful day as well, making a profit of $63k.
Despite of a small hiccup on the previous day, âJayP-AAâ was back in the saddle on Tuesday, netting a nice six figure win to the tune of $157,000. He took on the likes of âOdd_Oddsenâ and Ilari Sahamies and, after holding his own, âJayP-AAâ eclipsed $1 million in winnings for the year 2015.
With no other six-figure winners, second place on the leaderboard went to âRaulGonzalezâ whose profit for the day was just shy of $74k. Phil âRaiseOnceâ Ivey had a profitable day as well, pocketing $52k after an hour long session against Cort âthecorsterâ Kibler Melby.
Biggest winner on Wednesday came from PokerStars in form of Ike Haxton. Ike netted a total profit of $91k after playing for several hours at the $100/200 PLO tables, taking on âIlari_FINâ and âOdd_Oddsenâ as well as several other usual suspects.
âHoldmeJill9â seized the second spot for the day, with a nice profit of just over $70k. He took on Phil âPolarizingâ Ivey at the 8-Game tables and things have once again gone the wrong way for the high roller.
Just like the last week, we will wrap this weekâs report with yet another big day for Alex Kostritsyn. The Russian dominated tables on Thursday, raking in the profit of $136,400, mostly coming from the seven-hour 8-Game session against the likes of âCrazy_Eliorâ, âSamRostanâ, Patrik âFake_Love888â Antonius and others.
Phil âRaiseOnceâ Ivey bounced back after the bad day against âHoldemJill9â and booked a winning session to the tune of $74.5k. More than half of that number came from a very short 2-7 TD session against âZugwatâ, while the rest came from the 8-Game action.
Down and dirty
Once again, it was Russian Alex Kostritsyn taking the title of the weekâs big winner. âjoisoâ padded his roll with another $304,000, continuing his successful campaign at the online nosebleeds.
Norwegian Ola âOdd_Oddsenâ Admundsgard raked in a healthy profit of $192k as well. JayP-AA had to struggle a bit, but finally ended in black, $120k richer, moving his profit for the year above the one million mark.
âHoldemJill9â and Dan âw00ki3zâ Cates were on the good side of variance as well, winning $104k and $96k respectively.
Finally, Phil Ivey, who spread his action across two sites, after having some changeable luck, was able to finish on an uptick, with the profit of around $80,000.
The only really big loss for the past week was that of Ilari âIlari_FINâ Sahamies, who left over a quarter of a million at the tables. Cort âthecortsterâ Kibler Melby booked a small loss, but it amounted to just about $50k across the both sites.
