Year 2015 edition of the WSOP Main Event has finally reached the point where all players will come to play together at the same time, after all three flights of Day 2 were completed yesterday. Total of 1,796 players will be coming back to continue their quest for the most prestigious of all the poker bracelets out there.

654 players survived Day 2A-B, while Day 2C saw 1,142 survivors bagging their chips after the last river had been dealt. With top 1,000 places being paid, there is still some road to cover before players are guaranteed to walk away richer than they were when it had all started. This year's Main Event introduced a rather flat payout structure, so places 1,000 - 650 will all receive the same amount of $15,000.

Busto? Busto...

If you remember, 6,420 players registered to take part in 2015 Main Event, and with less than two thousands still standing, it is time to make a quick head count and see who's still in with a shot and whose dreams will be postponed until at the very least WSOP 2016.

List of those who fell honorably in the heat of the battle include several former champions, like Johnny Chan, Chris Moneymaker, Dan Harington and Carlos Mortensen. Peter Eastgate and the man who is perhaps the least known of all the WSOP champions, Robert Varkonyi, met the same fate, together with Jamie Gold.

Other notables whose time has run out include Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein, Michael Mizrachi, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Ronnie Bardah, Sam Trickett and many, many more. The list, as one could imagine, is a long one.

Still fighting the good fight

Although we share in on the pain of those eliminated, as many pros have described the day they get knocked out of the Main Event as the hardest day in the year, the focus will now fully be on those who made it through, and that list is also a long and very respectable one.

One of the well known names coming back with a very workable stack is Scotty Nguyen, who bagged 181,200 at the end of the Day 2C. Phil Hellmuth is still in with 88,000 chips as well as Daniel 'Kid Poker' Negreanu with 123,600 worth of betting disks.

Survivors from the Day 2AB include several famous names with chip stacks well above average, including Brian Hastings, who's already claimed two bracelets during this series, returning to the stack of 367,300, Jake Cody with 340,100 as well as Fedor 'CrownUpGuy' Holz who bagged 303,900. Jake and Hastings are in the top 20 on the chip leaderboard for the start of Day 3.

Leading the way

As the hunt for the big title continues today, one man currently leads the way and his name is Amar Anand, who bagged 603,500 chips. this gives him a decent advantage over the second place Calvin Lee with 500,700 and the third place Luther Tran returning to the stack of 479,700.

However, it is still early days in the Main Event and things are not only likely but practically guaranteed to shift around several times over before the final nine lucky players are determined. These nines will come back in November to resolve the matter of winner and answer the question on everybody's mind - who will take home the prize of nearly $7.7 million reserved for the winner?
