APT Cambodia which was scheduled to take place May 26th to June 3rd 2015 will be cancelled according to the CEO of Asian Poker Tour Jeff Mann.

Sudden change to the PokerStars schedule has led to clash of dates with APPT Macau which was completely unexpected for Mann because events were initially supposed to be held on different dates. He announced that they have confirmed the dates after PokerStars published their schedule for 2015 claiming that he is not sure what exactly happened.

APT is still committed to an event in Cambodia but as Mann explained, it would be a huge mistake for both players and the tour to put it up against APPT Macau.

APT event in Cambodia in 2014 was held in Queenco Casino and Hotel on one of the most exotic beaches of Sihanoukville. Despite its enormous success in 2014, Mann thinks that the best thing for both tours is to cancel 2015 APT event in Cambodia.

191 players, who represented 41 nationalities, have participated in the event last year so due to the player’s feedback they have expected at least a 50% increase in player numbers for the upcoming event. APT CEO expressed disappointment because of the clash of dates but he still claims that the event has a great and bright future.

Asian Poker Tour, the biggest original poker tour in Asia, was founded in 2008. Its first tournament was held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City, Philippines on May 2008 and was won by the Australian-based player David Saab.

After the APT Philippines, APT held another major event in Macau which was won by Yevgeniy Timoshenko. The APT holds main events but it also assists with setting up smaller, accredited events in different locations all over the Asia. To date, APT has staged 31 major events and numerous smaller tournaments in Asia’s most popular poker destinations like Macau, Philippines, Korea and Cambodia.

Due to its growing popularity Asian Poker Tour is highly anticipated by poker players in Asia and all over the world.
