The Asian Poker Tour has been guaranteed for three more years thanks to continuing strategic partnerships with Resorts World Manila and Geutebruck Korea Inc.

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) was founded in 2008, in Manila, The Philippines, to date, the tour has awarded over 20 million dollars to players in more than 70 major events. The tour stops at Philippines, Macau, South Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Australia, London, and New Caledonia.

In 2010, The APT entered a partnership with Resorts World Manila, that so far has resulted in 18 poker events held at the Resort, notably the Iron Man Poker Challenge in 2013 (which holds the Guinness World Record for the longest, continuous running poker tournament at 48 hours and 56 minutes) and the APT Champions

Both parties have profited greatly from the partnership, so it's no surprise that the APT announced the deal's been renewed for three more years.

Now the company has announced a new partner, Geutebruck Korea Inc., a South Korean company that operates the paradise Casino Walkerhill in Seoul and the Paradise city of Incheon.

The two companies reached a two-year agreement that confirms an APT presence in South Korea for 2018.

The APT first entered the Korean market in 2013, with events in Jeju and Daegu. This year, however, they added a new destination, the Paradise City resort in Incheon City.

The event attracted over 1,200 entries and a series prize pool of over half a million dollars, which may not sound like much until you factor in that South Korean law only allows foreigners to enter casinos.

This would mean that most if not all the entrants traveled to South Korea to play in this tournament as no local can legally play. These numbers made the APT a bona fide tourist attraction

Now for the 2018 events, APT is apparently not returning to Jeju or Daegu but it's staying in Incheon and moving one event to the Paradise Casino Walkerhill in Seoul instead.

If you're planning to take part in these events, here is what we know of the 2018 Schedule

Asian Poker Tour: The Philippines at Resorts World Manila:

  • APT Philippines Championships 2018 - From March 21st to April 1st.
  • APT Philippines 2018 From September 11th to 20th.

Asian Poker Tour: South Korea in two different cities:

  • APT Korea Seoul at Paradise Casino Walkerhill - June 15th to 24th.
  • APT Korea Incheon at Paradise City From August 10th to 19th.
