Coin Poker, the new cryptocurrency poker site which recently sold out its pre-ICO in record time, are offering a festive bonus - with four daily tournaments per day until New Year paying out prizes in Ethereum.

Cryptocurrencies are making headlines all around the world due to the massive rise in value, and Coin Poker will be offering tournament buy-ins in their own currency CHiPs but paying out prizes in one of the best-known of the new digital currencies, Ethereum, which this week exploded to a new all-time high price of $900 – knocking BitCoin’s share of the market to below 50%.

It’s great timing for poker sites such as Coin Poker, who held their pre-ICO (Initial Coin Offering) in November and saw 100,000,000 tokens snapped up in less than a week, with the promise of another 275,000,000 to be released in the ICO proper starting in January.

Inbetween times, however, the site have launched a tournament series of 48 events per day, kicking off last week and due to run for another three weeks – and the Ethereum tournaments on top of this will look to launch the site to the top of the crypto-poker stakes.

The daily Ethereum tournament schedule, seen below, is set to run alongside their usual CHP series, which is a mix of MTT Daily and Weekly Specials, all freerolls…

  • 12:00 a.m. GMT* — 200 CHP buy-in — 2 ETH GTD
  • 3:00 p.m. GMT — 200 CHP buy-in — 2 ETH GTD
  • 7:00 p.m. GMT — 400 CHP buy-in — 5 ETH GTD
  • 8:00 p.m. GMT — 200 CHP buy-in — 2 ETH GTD

…with the top 6 players at the Final Tables dividing the Ethereum (ETH) prizes, and the creators of the site are keen to point out that 12:00 a.m. is  midnight, in case you weren’t sure!

The Ethereum events, as you can see, do have buy-ins – Coin Poker’s press release stating that ‘since lots of you have already acquired considerable amounts of our in-game currency, it’s time to start using it — and not just in our cash games.’

The in-game currency CHP, in case you still aren’t sure what it is, is a new cryptocurrency dedicated for poker with its nickname CHiPs, which can be cashed out back to traditional currencies whenever you want.

The site’s creators explain that:

"You can buy the CHP cryptocurrency online no matter which geographic region you reside in (perfect for those in hitherto closed markets) and the speed of processing goes from slooooow to instantaneous - bypassing banks, e-wallets and other third-party brokers who create distrust in the poker community and cause payment delays".

For those who make it to the final tables, Coin Poker note that:

"if you win ETH, you will need to write us an email from the address you used to register at Coin Poker. Send your e-wallet address to which you want us to transfer your ETH at promotions@coinpoker.com, and give us 72 hours to transfer you your prize — we’re doing this manually!"

With crypto-poker currently the next big thing in the game, PokerTube will bring you all the latest developments from ICO’s to tournaments to new sites offering you a chance to get in on the crypto game – Coin Poker apparently having another something new and impressive up its sleeve and coming soon…
