Daniel Negreanu’s Alien Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy theories among poker players aren’t all that unusual, but usually they involve the belief that online poker sites are deliberately handing out bad beats to selected individuals – but for Daniel Negreanu it’s an ‘aliens walk among us revelation’ which has gripped the PokerStars man’s attention this week…

Negreanu doesn’t usually come across as the most gullible of people, but his thoughts were soon being ripped apart by his Twitter fans, followers and foes in equal measure…

Not that everything the Canadian high-roller thinks about aliens is necessarily off the mark…

…but his choice of a widely-ridiculed documentary as the basis for his ‘beliefs’ might not have been the best ‘read’ he has ever made…

…although the Twitter posts did provide huge scope for humour and piss-taking, with Phil Hellmuth making an appearance…

…while others were trying to point ‘KidPoker’ in a better direction, though it seems doubtful from his comments that Daniel has ever heard of Fermi’s theorem…

…and some didn’t mince their words, even if borrowed, when it came to blowing Negreanu’s surprising tweets out of the water…

Within the game of poker, as mentioned, conspiracy theories abound – and your scribe has not been immune to claiming one or two himself, with Daniel’s paymasters PokerStars on the receiving end of some serious, and not so serious, speculation…

For the sake of his career, we can only hope that these tales will not make it to Daniel Negreanu’s eyes or ears – although Twitter would naturally love it if they did!
