It has been a busy couple of days for Daniel Negreanu. After the relentless ribbing he’s been getting about the latest rake increases on PokerStars he has finally had enough and posted a blog clarifying that he doesn’t think higher rake is good for poker. Which is true, his position was that recreational players lose less to the rake than to pros so a rake increase that sends pros elsewhere is good for those players.

Doug Polk, who never leaves a bear unpoked if it might scrape another couple of views up from the bottom of the internet’s barrel did his usual schtick of sanctimony and moralising by ignoring the blog post and just calling Daniel a liar over and over again.

So they’ve been all hand-bags-at-dawn for a bit, I guess Doug was upset that Joey Ingram’s tantrum with Alec Torelli on Live at the Bike might have been chipping into the attention he feels he deserves.

Scheduling Conflicts

In the meantime Negreanu’s posted his schedule for the Summer, a massive mix of high stakes WSOP events of all shapes and sizes ranging from the $1 million buy in One Drop Event to the relatively light-weight $1500 2-7 Triple Draw Event.

He’s also looking forward to a busy Spring in the run up to the WSOP. Which was also the moment that we discovered that KidPoker had finally snapped.

It started with an offhand comment from Shaun Deeb, escalated with an incredulous Todd Brunson, and ended with confirmation from the most blockable man on the internet Doug Polk.

It appears Negreanu is done with Doug Polk’s catchpenny outrage and has brought down the banhammer. RIP the great poker Twitter spat.

Perhaps now Negreanu can settle into that busy Spring schedule nice and quietly… Chance would be a fine thing.
