Dealers Open The $200million 2018 WSOP1 year ago
It’s that time of year again folks! The World Series of Poker kicks off with what promises to be 7 weeks of all-out, or all-in perhaps, action in Vegas with a minimum of $200million up for grabs over 78 tournaments – and as usual it’s the poker dealers who kick off the action…
While the biggest names in the poker world finish off their Super High Roller Bowl, or lick their wounds at having busty out of the $300k event, a slew of Las Vegas Casino employees will be looking to land the first bracelet of the series, last year seeing Bryan Hollis walking off with the lucky golden charm and $68,817.
Also great news for poker fans is the return of John Hesp, the colourful English grandfather coming to Vegas last year to tick it off his bucket list and walking off with $2.6million after reaching the final table and finishing 4th – the poker story of the entire series for many.
Of course, the Main Event is the ultimate crown in the series for most players and fans, and this year it will kick off on Monday July 2nd – with thousands of hopefuls looking to succeed Scott Blumstein in the winner’s chair, his $8,150,000 payday likely to be exceeded this time round.
And also this week, in the run-up to the biggest poker series in the world, ESPN have been showing ‘The Life and Legacy of Chris Moneymaker’, a decade and a half on from his remarkable Main Event victory.
PokerTube will of course be bringing you the best of the action and the biggest of the stories from the WSOP.
