A week may be a long time in politics, but the partypoker weekly newsletter that pops through the inbox seems to come around a lot quicker – big changes and big news peppering the latest edition as the site launches some promising new promotions

Double cashback for table starters

We’ll get to the big live and online tournament news soon, but first up has to be…

The Table Starter Cashback promotion

This initiative is designed to reward players who take the responsibility of starting and maintaining new tables.

The ‘anti-bumhunting’ idea will see table starters receive double the Cashback points that player normally get, the promo running at any stake of 6-max or higher cash games where two or three other players are dealt cards.

You can check out what partypoker partner and Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong has to say on the initiative in the tweet below…

Cash game thinking times cut

Another of the recent partypoker attempts to introduce #FAIRPLAY to the online tables will see all cash games (except for FastForward) enforce shorter decision times.

Players of NLHE still have 15 seconds pre-flop to decide on their play, while the post-flop time has been cut from 20 seconds down to 15 seconds. For PLO buffs it’s down from 25 to 15 pre- and 25 to 20 seconds post-flop.

Offering a simple explanation, Yong stated:

"The settings are very old, so we are aligning with the industry standard for a faster more exciting game.”

Padraig Parkinson says ‘Make Poker Poker!’

In our final piece of FAIRPLAY news this week, Team partypoker's Padraig Parkinson added his support for the eco-changes, intended to make the site ‘the safest and fairest place online’.

The Irishman’s recent PRO blog piece – entitled 'Padraig's Corner' – is well worth a read here.

Power Series Special Edition on July 21st

Once a month, partypoker boosts one of their regular Power Series tournaments, creating a massively-guaranteed monster – a ‘one-off supersized event’ in their words.

July 21st sees the next ‘Special Edition’, a $55 buy-in and $150k guaranteed tournament kicking off at 19:00 GMT/20:00CEST.

WSOP and Triton in the news

It’s summer-time so live news has to kick off with the WSOP, Team partypoker putting in some deep runs, led by Patrick Leonard.

Pads leads the pros in individual cashes with $73,572 – the entire winnings amounting to $434,664 so far.

The Main Event has just kicked off its starting flights and the trio of Richard Dubini, Hristivoje Pavlovic and Monika Zukowicz will all be looking to add to their recent successes.

The full team's WSOP adventures can be found here.

The Triton Super High Roller Series is already on the horizon, and August 1st debut in London for the partypoker-sponsored nosebleed tournament extravaganza.

The $1,050,000 buy-in charity event has been the talk of the town recently, big-name pros receiving invites from prominent businessmen to the richest tournament in the history of the game.

The first duo named were Paul Phua and his ‘date’ Tom Dwan, and this week we saw Rob Yong naming Sam Trickett as his side-kick.

The showpiece event will take place in the London Park Lane Hilton and you can check here for more info.
