Online MTTs Sunday Recap: Roberto Romanello's Powerful Powerfest

Party Poker's seventh running of Powerfest began on Sunday with 12 events out of 147 scheduled, and site ambassador Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello had a fine day on the virtual felt, final tabling two of the tournaments for over $41K in prize money combined.

The first of his final tables was the $500K Gtd Title Fight Special Edition that attracted 2,100 entrants at a $215 buy-in, providing a nice overlay for all participants. “ABOUDIABY2” took home the title and $83,500 in prize money, getting past runner-up “DieguiDekk15.” Romanello's deep run ended in 4th place for $25,250.

POWERFEST #03-M: $500K GTD - Final Table Results

The WelshWizard's other final table came courtesy of the $250,000 GTD  Super High Roller where 137 players coughed up the $2,100 entry fee. That brought the prize pool to $274K and saw “KONY2012” and “PrettySteph” commandeer a chop of first and second place prize money.

KONY2012 took about $5K more and the SHR title, while PrettySteph likely feels a whole lot prettier today with her purse weighed down by $51,462. Romanello's cut for fifth place totaled $16,440.

POWERFEST #03-H: $250K GTD SHR - Final Table Results

The $215 Sunday Million at PokerStars drew 5,893 entrants, consisting of 4,782 entries and 1,111 re-entries. The prize pool ballooned to $1,178,600 and made winners out of 1,052 players.

Every player landing in the money received a ticket to a $30K all-in shootout in addition to the prize money. The lion share of that prize money went to Latvia's "auercan," who began final table action with the second shortest stack, but roared back to claim the title and $159,131.67.

Other results on PokerStars' busy Sunday schedule included a title for Russia's "SENSIMIL1" in the $215 Sunday Warm-Up for $47,105.25. Not far from the Russian champ came another big winner over the weekend when Ukraine's "RomeOpro" won the Sunday 500 for $37,764.07.
