Global Poker’s iconic colours were much in evidence this week in Vegas, several of the site’s regulars in town for a tilt at the World Series of Poker – while Vegas native and NASCAR champ Kurt Busch headed off to Daytona to try his own luck on the racetrack!

Poker first, of course, and the biggest event of the year saw GP reg Antonio Fernandez ‘The Printer’ Millan taking on more than 8000 others in the flagship $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event.

The second-biggest ever running of the tournament has just seen the last nine players make the final table, and although Florida grinder Antonio won’t be among them, he thoroughly enjoyed his live outing at the world-famous event.

Also in Vegas this month was Branden ‘Reraise1986’ Quinlan, the Kentucky doctor who took down the Grizzly Games II Tournament of Champions title.

Brendan’s huge online scoop saw him use his Global Poker winner’s live tournament package to play the Mini Main Event, but a nasty cooler ended his hopes.

Brenadan explained:

“I ran kings into aces which crippled me. I had a great time though. Unfortunately, I didn’t cash.”

Both men will be back at the Global Poker tables this weekend, of course, the largest and fastest-growing US-facing online poker room gearing up for the Sunday majors and a full schedule of tournaments and cash games.

Away from the tables and battling his own demons – the eweather that is – Kurt Busch was in Daytona for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 Independence Day racing weekend.

Busch was driving his unique Chip Ganassi Racing No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, looking ‘mean and spectacular’ in its military-inspired patriotic livery – the Global Poker sponsorship making it the most-recognisable car of the entire weekend.

Busch narrowly avoided busting completely in the biggest crash of the day, but the grill damage was still enough to keep him off the podium, 10th spot still a decent finish in the difficult circumstances.

Of course, you don’t have to visit Vegas or Daytona for your own fun and games, Global Poker hosting players from every state and town at the poker tables.

Available on your phone, tablet and laptop, and boasting regular promotions and giveaways available through social media, there are plenty of opportunities to win real cash prizes. As the site says itself:

Global Poker - a little bit of Vegas, whenever!’
