Scott Blumstein, the 2017 World Series of Poker Main Event champion, has declared victory in his battle against food addiction. The 26-year-old American poker star told how he had fought the serious issue for almost every year of his short life.

Turning It Around

In April 2017, Blumstein was to finally make the changes necessary to turn his life around and take control of his issues.

“There wasn’t a lot to be happy or positive about at the time. I was not doing great financially after messing up my first real shot at a bankroll and I was 330 pounds, the heaviest I had ever been.”

Before arriving in Las Vegas where his life would change forever he started to workout and pay close attention to his diet. He now understood that this was a major cause of unhappiness in his life, and it was also something that could be controlled with a little self-discipline.

Now, little more than a year later, the New Jersey resident is packing less than 260lbs and looking forward to a brighter and healthier future.

“I’m obviously going to say it hasn’t been easy. Changing never is... but I’m glad I’ve done it…”

Blumstein received much warm praise for his turnaround on social media, and he responded with the hope that he will be able to help others make similar changes for their own lives.
