Second Vegas Casino Robbed at Gunpoint

A second MGM-owned Las Vegas casino has been hit by a brazen thief in as many months, with the New York-New York casino the target this time â an armed man holding up a cash cage at the popular gambling venue on South Las Vegas Boulevard.
It follows a daylight robbery at the Bellagio in late November, which saw a masked gunman rob the poker cage â just feet away from tables full of players, including actor James Woods â the robber fleeing the scene in a silver Chevrolet Cruze and still at large.
In the latest robbery, LasVegasNow report that âthe suspect, armed with a handgun, robbed the casino cage of the New York-New York around 12:45 a.m. Wednesdayâ, with New York â New Yorkâs parent company MGM Resorts International releasing the following statement:
"No one was harmed, and the suspect fled the building. Metro is investigating. All operations are running normally."
Police described the suspect âseen in the video below - as:
"A black male, around 30 to 35 years old, wearing a black beanie cap, black hooded jacket, dark jeans, black shoes, black mechanic gloves and black rimmed glasses."
Local reports state that neither the police nor the casino have released information on how much money was taken in the two robberies, although last year they revealed that a local pastor, Gregory Bolusan, attempted to rob Penn National Gamingâs M Resort casino of about $33,000 â in what police claim was his 3rd attempt to rob the place in just 3 months.
As Brian Pempus of Cardplayer.com wrote at the time, âThe first incident was unsuccessfulâ but that âin September, he again appeared armed when demanding cash from the cage, but this time he made off with about $30,000.â
Pempus added that for the third robbery, âBolusan again made little effort to differentiate himself from the previous timesâ and âparked his car in the exact same spot as the other two incidents and entered the exact same doors of the casino as beforeâ although his luck ran out as âthis time casino security staff were waiting for him, and police later showed up to take him into custody.â
