Floyd Mayweather is making headlines once again, for all the wrong reasons. His recent Instagram post of him and a friend playing a very staged hand of poker on his private jet has attracted criticism for breaching social distancing rules and for obviously not really knowing how poker works.

The photos show him and a friend playing poker with actual cash bricks and regular Bicycle cards, the caption reading:

“On my private jet playing a private game of poker against @tmtbside7 he thought he had me with his full house, but I smoked him with a 4 of a kind.”

With £706 million in earnings, the cash bricks seem believable, the tone deafness of the post is harder to fathom.

Mayweather was once famous for winning fifteen boxing titles in five different weight classes, he is now better known for having won numerous fights against his romantic partners.

Mayweather is a controversial figure at the best of times with a rap sheet that includes physical abuse of women, defamation lawsuits, and even SEC violations for dealings with the fraudulent owners of Centra Tech.

This week he’s been getting a lot of flack for bragging about how little the impending financial crisis is going to affect him, cycling around LA with a group of his pals flouting social distancing rules, and now swanning about in a £50 million dollar private jet sharing recycled air with others while the rest of the world socially isolates to save lives.
