The Cage Live Returns in Costa Rica

The Cage Live is back! ACR has announced that the popular cash game in a time-based tournament format will return at the luxurious Sheraton Hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica. From Wednesday, August 16 through Saturday, August 19, players will compete in the event cash game rules apply but the blinds steadily increase until the stakes are humongous.

So, how does it all work? The idea is simple and yet totally original in the industry. To buy ito the game directly, players pay $5,250 and receive 5,000 chips. The blinds go up in a regular fashion just like in a tournament.

If eliminated, on Day1, players can rebuy a single time but, here’s the catch, they can’t cash out until Day 2 is underway. This is why they called the event “The Cage”.

Chris Moneymaker, ACR Pro and poker legend, said:

36 packages are up for grabs, each valued at $8,700. Direct buy-in to the satellites is $95 but players can qualify via The Beast weekly leaderboard.

Each package includes a buy-in worth $5,250 and five nights accommodation at the Sheraton Hotel. $800 for airline tickets and $1,000 spending money is also thrown. ACR is even giving you $400 to play regular cash games if you’re out of The Cage early. It’s a great offer.
