Five minutes away from the Rio sits a popular Italian eatery on Spring Mountain Road that is now under the new ownership of three poker players - Todd Brunson, Max Pescatori, and Fabio Coppola.

The trio have purchased the Roma Deli & Restaurant in Siena Plaza and will continue serving the current fare of Italian dishes. Plans to add a bar are in the works, fortified by the acquisition of additional retail space connected to the restaurant, Vegas.eater.com reported.

The poker pros, who between them have won just shy of $9,000,000 in live tournament action, intend to keep using the Roma Deli name. Just three miles west of the annual WSOP at the Rio, the restaurant is located at 5755 W. Spring Mountain Road near Jones Boulevard.

Quality and Quantity

Vegas locals and tourists have been enjoying the fresh Italian cuisine served at Roma's since 1999. Yelp is replete with positive reviews, with several mentioning the generous portions and delicious pastas.

There is a second Roma's location on Sahara Avenue, about five miles further west. Brunson's place is in Chinatown among many Asian-themed restaurants and is open from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. daily, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Capisce?

Pescatori and Coppola are native Italians, which certainly is positive EV for Brunson in aligning himself with business partners for an Italian-American restaurant. Pescatori, who is 3rd on Italy's all-time money list for winning tournament poker, hails from Milan, while Coppola lists his hometown as Rimini.

Todd Brunson, of course, is the son of legendary poker pro Doyle Brunson, owner of 10 WSOP gold bracelets and a 1988 Poker Hall of Fame inductee. Todd is a chip off the old block, with lifetime earnings over $4 million. The younger Brunson joined his father in the Poker HOF in 2016.
