partypoker’s latest press release is a mixed bag with a distinctly global feel to it, London, Canada and Germany all getting a look in, with the big news being the upcoming $28million guaranteed POWERFEST 10th Anniversary online series…
Management in the Money!
We’ll start, however, with some rather unexpected good news for partypoker, their Managing Director Tom Waters running deep in the WSOP Main Event!
partypoker LIVE/WPT Deepstacks Germany kicks off
Today marks the start of the partypoker LIVE WPT Deepstacks Germany, the Kings Casino playing host to the WPT-partnered series, running from July 11th to July 22nd.
With 21 tournaments listed, the main focus will be on the €1,500 buy-in Main Event – players aiming for a chunk of the €500k guarantee – and there’s also a €3k High Roller and €300 'Opener' on the busy schedule.
$0.01 online to LIVE success for skylersoft
In more live event news, partypoker player skylersoft turned his $0.01 online run-up into a fantastic 2nd place finish at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal.
Winning PP LIVE dollars allowed skylersoft to fund his Canadian poker dream, the unique currency allowing poker players to pay buy-ins, hotels, travel and pretty much everything else in one fell swoop.

Triton London adds Yong and Trickett to the starting lineup
It’s the biggest ever buy-in for a single event in the history of poker, and Rob Yong has just invited Sam Trickett to be his pro guest for the Triton Million - A Helping Hand for Charity Event.
With Tom Dwan, Dan Jungleman Cates and Jason Koon among the pro runners already entered, Yong will join fellow amateurs and businessmen such as Triton co-founders Paul Phua and Richard Yong in a battle with the world’s finest nosebleed players.
The flagship event – with a £1million buy-in and an extra $50k per head going to charitable causes runs from August 1st to 3rd at London's Park Lane Hotel.
10th Anniversary POWERFEST guarantees $28million
With 275 events and a massive $28million in guarantees, partypoker have pushed the boat out to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their evergreen POWERFEST series.
Special edition SPINS and a ‘Satellite Week’ commencing July 21st – one week before POWERFEST begins in earnest – will allow players of all bankrolls to win their way to the series proper.
There will be eight separate Championship events across the fortnight of intense action from July 28th to August 11th with the full schedule available here soon.
Bounty satellites make their partypoker debut
In a clever new twist on the increasingly popular PKO format, a new addition to the tournament roster has been added – Bounty satellites.
Buy-ins are split 50-50 between satellite tickets and bounty cash prizes for the winners, the added bonus being that players can now win part, all, or more than their initial buy-in while reducing variance.
More on bounty satellites here.
June bot closures see $30k+ seized in June
The latest figures in partypoker’s battle against the online bots reveal that the dedicated Poker Fraud Team closed down 67 accounts across both the .com and .eu networks last month.
Some $24,257 was seized from 63 .com accounts, while €8,888 was confiscated from four ringfenced .eu accounts. Player feedback again helped the site to rid itself of unwanted cheats, partypoker pledging to update players each month on the results.
