Fans of the WSOP got a sneak preview of what might be in store for them next summer when a draft schedule of the Vegas summer-long poker festival was apparently released by accident, screenshots of the timetable of events shared on the forum of the French poker site ClubPoker.com.

Although the sneak preview of what might be was quickly taken down again, it looks like there could be one or two new events making their way into the 8-week long shindig at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, with both $50k and $100k Super High Rollers on the table, as well as the intriguingly-named ‘$1,000/$2,000/$3,000 Boost Your Stack' event.

As always, the plan is to kick off with the Casino Employees event, with Wednesday May 30th pencilled in on the draft schedule, one which had questions being thrown about on Twitter before too long…

Leonard’s apparent worries that the 6-max $10Kevent isn’t there will unlikely be realised, the event always a popular one and taken down last year by Dmitry Yurasov for over $775,000.

The Main Event itself looks set for a re-shuffle dates-wise if the draft is anywhere near accurate, a late-July start last year looking to be moved to a July 2nd start, with a further 12 events to follow – including the massive Big One for One Drop which is set to return to Vegas after a 4-year hiatus.

The $1million buy-in event, the brainchild of poker-playing entrepreneur Guy Laliberte, was surprisingly moved to Monte Carlo for 2016 and pros were supposedly banned from entering, although it was won by distinctly non-amateur Elton Tsang.

In a strange twist of fate, the first man to pledge his $1million entry for the return to Vegas next summer was Leon Tsoukernik, the Kings Casino owner and Tsang having some unfinished business regarding alleged unpaid debts.

Getting back to the mistakenly released draft for 2018, it would appear that there may be even more events than the 74 which graced the Rio this summer – a total of 77 on the unconfirmed listings, although as the KevMath tweet indicates, that number may well go up or down before the final schedule is released, most likely early in February of next year.
