888Live Hits the King’s

Make it Big’ is the mission statement for 888Poker and come January they plan to do exactly that, sending their full team of ambassadors to the King’s Casino in Rozvadov to battle it out with thousands of others for the €600,000 in guaranteed prize pools on offer in the 888Live Kings Festival.

Kara Scott, Chris Moorman, Natalie Hof, Dominik Nitsche and Sofia Lövgren will all take part in the 12-day festival of poker being held in Europe’s biggest and best card-room, and they are expected to be joined by a slew of other big names between January 26th and February 6th, (including yours truly - definitely NOT a big name in poker! - who is hoping to squeeze in a tournament or two between my writing and reporting ‘chores’.

And there is plenty to choose from, all the way from ‘The Thunder’ event at €60 up to the €5300 high-roller – with Kara Scott acting as host throughout and Natalie Hof making sure the German market just across the Czech border is well-catered for.

Following the success of 888Live’s debut event last month at Asper’s Casino in London, and King’s Casino’s own amazing WSOP Circuit event in Rozvadov a few weeks ago, expectations are high for January’s ‘Make it Big’ festival.

The Big 3

Highlights of the festival include the curtain-raiser €225 buy-in Opening Event, with a €150,000 guaranteed prizepool and three starting flights (4 if you include the turbo day1d held alongside 1c). 30,000 chips, two re-entries, and late registration open for 11 levels should ensure record numbers for the first blow in what should be an amazing 12 days.

The HighRoller, a 2-day tournament kicking off on Wednesday, February 1st, features a €5300 buy-in and boasts a €100,000 guarantee, a deep-stack extravaganza with a 100,000 starting stack plus unlimited re-entries, and allowing for late registration up until the start of Day 2.

The recent WSOP Circuit version saw November Niners Vojtech Ruzicka and Pierre Neuville at the final table and similarly huge names can be expected to show up for 888’s ‘Make it Big’ affair.

The Main Event, with an €888 buy-in, offers a staggering €300,000 guarantee and is easily the best value MTT on offer, especially as the 888 ambassadors carry a bounty on their heads which pretty much guarantees it being a freeroll for those knocking out the big names.

The Whale, the Monsoon and the Hurricane

No, not the winter weather and wildlife in the Czech Republic, but rather a choice of the side events on offer during the festival – a combined €50,000 in guarantee prize pools ensuring a healthy return for those skilled or lucky enough to make their way past the money bubble.

Throughout the festival, the expertly-commentated feature table will be live streamed worldwide, which means you’ll have a good chance of seeing both poker players and celebs in action – and the King’s Casino has big screens throughout meaning that even during diner breaks you can keep up with all the action elsewhere.
