Two Brazilian millionaires in 24 hours may sound like the start of one of those ‘blonde jokes’ which did the rounds a few years back (‘Wow!’, says the blonde, ‘But how much is a BraZilian?’ (Million/gaZillion, get it? Hmmm
) but just a day after Samara LĂșcio won the PokerStars Spin and Go jackpot, her fellow countryman ‘wrawras’ was at it again, scooping another $1million for Brazil’s online community.

‘Wrawras’ huge win wasn’t quite as profitable as LĂșcio’s was the day previously, as he had bought in for $100 as opposed to Samara LĂșcio’s $5 stake, but he won’t be complaining now since it took him just 10 minutes to make his fortune!

As reported yesterday, when PokerStars announced their Anniversary Spin and Go celebration promotion at the start of the week, they said of the initial prize-fund wheel-spin:

We’re not going to lie to you, it’s the most exciting part of the game,” pointing out that “It could be anything from double your buy-in up to the staggering 2,000,000 times your $0.50 buy-in (if you hit the million dollar prize.).”

In Tournament #1,355,735,108 which started yesterday, it only took a few seconds for ‘wrawras’ and his fellow competitors - ‘A13X_J0neS’ from Canada, and ‘Sir.Whiteman’ from Hungary, to realise that their $100 stake was about to be returned to them increased at least 1000-fold within 10 minutes.

‘A13X_J0neS’ took down 2nd, with ‘Sir.Whiteman’ 3rd and both lifted $100,000 paydays. The total of 51 hands was less than half of Lucio’s 118-hand victory on Thursday, which works out at $19,608 per hand for ‘wrawras’, even for those hands he folded!

The winner, and new millionaire, is apparently a fan of the Brazilian football team ‘Clube de Regatas do Flamengo’, his PokerStar’s avatar carrying the club’s crest.

Spin & Go’s are “fast-paced, 3-Max Hyper Turbo tournaments featuring 500 chip starting stacks,” according to the PokerStars blurb, with each tournament having “a randomly drawn prize pool that will award between two and 3,000 times your buy-in.”

Wrawras’ win was actually a 10,000% RoI, reflecting the Anniversary promotions huge investment in one of the most popular recent formats of online poker. Lucio’s was an even more impressive 200,000%.

PokerStars offer Spin & Gos at “seven different buy-in levels $1, $3, $7, $15, $30, $60 and $100, and regardless of the buy-in players will start the tournament with 500 chips and play three minute levels.”

‘Wrawras’ win makes him the seventh millionaire to be crowned since they began offering them a year ago. Other sites have also introduced versions of the Spin and Go, but the Stars’ version has already paid out a staggering $3billion.

For those who haven’t tried the format yet, you can try your luck by checking out the Spin & Go anniversary page and if you do so before November 1st using the code ‘ANNIVERSARY’ and topping up $10, you’ll receive a Spin & Go ticket bundle worth $2.50 in total.
